- Alison C6 contributionsWe went on a tour with getyour guide we did not take the guide or boat option and it was absolutely not bothering people tell you where to go and the boat ride is really small we did not. We ate a little higher with views of the waterfalls flat starter, water clementine bread and mint tea for 10€ the meal was delicious. The journey is long enough we left at 7:45 and return at 6:00 pm. a guide showed us pictures in the middle of summer is to flee a lot of people you will be on top of each other. The view is very nice we liked the excursionVisited March 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten March 12, 2025
- Alessandra BCuneo, Italy1,645 contributionsSet in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco rise these beautiful waterfalls, three powerful jets that create a beautiful soundtrack... also here taken day trip with get your guide and we had a great time with air-conditioned bus and local Guide. On the site you walk from the top of the waterfall and then make a trek of about 2 hours to circumnavigate the falls and stop at more 'viewpoints. Truly a spectacular walk! Stalls with oil and fresh orange juices along the way and friendly and empathetic locals. Famous plants that produce seeds for Argan oil unique place in the world where they grow! Arrived in low African show... children in natural pools that wallow to better withstand the heat! Dry heat though.... bearable! Then a typical boat takes you around the falls with shower included! Bellissimo! Going up there are many steps to do but lunch stop on panoramic terraces overlooking the waterfalls! Unforgettable!!! Tajine cooked on the spot , tomato salad, mint and watermelon tea all for 10 euros... on the way back the monkeys... anywhere you can give them peanuts and cherry tomatoes that nice guys sell for 1 euro... a monkey and 'climbed on my shoulder leaving me 2 nice bruises! They're huge! But nice, and... fantastic experience!Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 14, 2024
- ESTEN PSpain11 contributionsOuzoud Waterfalls are incredible to see. Fabulous guide in Abdeljalil who was very friendly and helpful. Be warned it is a bit of a hike down to the bottom of the waterfalls and the trails are dusty and sometimes a bit slippy so sensible shoes peeps. The views are amazing, nice to see Macaque monkeys in their own surroundings rather than performing animals and you can feed them if you wish. Again I'd suggest buying food for them in the shops rather than having food for them thrust into your hand for payment by people around the location. The boat ride was great almost to the waterfall itself so be prepared to get a bit wet. Would definitely recommendVisited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten October 10, 2024
- Yoni LArras, France16 contributionsAs mother nature lovers the Ouzoud waterfalls are a real jewel nestled in the heart of the Moroccan mountains. The landscape is breathtaking with incredible flora and fauna that immerse you in an enchanting natural environment. Don’t miss out on providing peanuts or cherry tomatoes to feed the facetious monkeys that live on site. Moreover, there is no need to turn to the folders, many children and small stands offer these snacks at affordable Awards. To add to the experience, a boat tour at only €2 (or 20 dirhams) allows you to sail directly under the waterfall, offering spectacular views and the opportunity to take memorable photos. An authentic and complete experience, perfect for nature lovers and unforgettable adventures.Visited September 2024Traveled with friendsWritten October 7, 2024
- howiet1971Swindon, United Kingdom1,919 contributions3 ½ hours from Marrakech, I visited on a tour booked through my hostel. When I arrived at the falls my first reaction was how disappointing. It didn’t look like much at all. But from the bottom of the falls looking up, it was far more beautiful and I was relieved I hadn’t wasted my time. Of course the falls will be better/worse dependent on rain. You can go on a little boat which takes you right up to the falls, almost inside and you get sprayed on which was fun. (Not soaked.) The falls are surrounded by Berber shops and a few restaurants. The shops are cheaper than in Marrakech, the restaurants not. What made this trip for me however, was not the falls, but the Barbary Monkeys which are mainly found on your way out of the falls, though some may linger on the path before you reach them. There are locals unofficially selling you nuts to feed them; you can take you own, the monkeys are wild and feeding them is a personal choice. Be aware however, that I was having a selfie with one and the nut man put one behind me and I ended up having a huge monkey on my head. Which was fun in retrospect as I wasn’t bitten. Do not forget, they are WILD monkeys even if they are used to people. I’m really glad I took the trip here, and everyone else I knew who did it was also glad they did.Visited February 2025Traveled soloWritten February 27, 2025
- Fanny GPavilly, France13 contributionsVery nice site and few people in September. We refused the Arrival Guide which was imposed on us for 4th per person and which imposed a restaurant (although not included in the excursion). Plan sneakers and pay attention to 732 steps on the way back so not necessarily accessible to all.Visited October 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 4, 2024
- KatSchrodingerLondon, United Kingdom70 contributionsThis place is absolutely stunning! We took a tour from our hotel which involved a guide taking us to the village and guiding us down the 600 steps to the waterfalls. The steps are not too bad in all honesty, and even coming back up isn’t bad if you’re physically fit - my eldest has exercise induced asthma and was fine. The falls are beautiful and definitely worth seeing. I really recommend getting the raft ride - our guide took us right next to them and took photos of us all together and a brilliant video! He really knows his stuff. There were some lovely shops - some that sell tat but some absolute gems. Remember to barter! I fell over about 50 steps down and carried on. My guide was fantastic in making sure I was ok. I came back up again with the guide behind me every step of the way. It turns out I’d broken my knee so I’m grateful for that! The other thing you need to be aware of is the guys who give you stuff for the monkeys to come onto you. The animals are wild and you do it at your own risk (we’d had rabies vaccinations so did it). They can be VERY pushy - the same guys who gave us food on the way down tried to push us to do on the way up even though we said no. They’re only making a living though and they were actually extremely supportive of my husband who nearly passed out with heat exhaustion when carrying my toddler.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 31, 2024
- MikaFrance2 contributionsRather than taking a Guide upon our arrival at the Ouzoud Waterfalls, we listened to the advice of a tourist couple who were in our resort and contacted Abdel (+212 649-238034) via WhatsApp. We agreed on a meeting point where we could serenely leave our rental car. It was perfect! He even relieved my wife by carrying her backpack. During the visit, he managed not to bother us and when we wanted to buy something, he told us the maximum Award we had to spend not to get fooled. During the lunch break, he was very discreet and slipped away with his colleagues when we had offered him lunch with us and was available at the end of our meal. Very nice, he took our family photos and before we bathed we were able to leave our things safely. We really do not regret contacting him! What kindness and professionalism.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 11, 2024
- Ludovic D1 contributionFollowing a recommendation, we visited the waterfall with Abdeljalil. Thanks to him we have seen the waterfall from all angles with very clear explanations about the culture, Berbers and everything around it. Advised us or eat or buy souvenirs without being fooled, we had an incredible approach to monkeys and full of memories thanks to all the photos he could take of us. If you want to visit the Cascade do not go through an official guide who scrapes you at first but contact Abdel before coming who is a real local very nice your day will be amazing!! Without our Guide this tour would have been completely different away from tourist groups Abdel knew how to make us live this moment differently He showed us his secrets to the locals. Jumps in waterfalls, swimming, monkey meals... PS our son and my wife were sick when we arrived and our Guide found local herbs to give them the strength to make this tour Words just encouragement Thank you for everything Just exceptional! A long mainly flat 3 hour drive through the plains to get there, the waterfalls were very touristy so arrive very early or late. We came on a tour from Marrakech so arrived with 40 other minibuses at 1115 and left with them all at 1530 ish.
We passed about 3 camping places and saw a huge 5 star hotel on the hill, so you could make this an interesting less touristy experience if you perhaps stayed overnight, or had your own car.
The views from the bus were not as interesting as those when you head south west towards Merzouga.
The falls are high but not much water, as I understand that rains only came in September 2024 after a 6 year drought. Hence it was also muddy with not much vegetation around. Too muddy for us to swim although we did see 2 tourists jumping from rocks.
A very set walking route 30 mins down a mud path, 10 mins on a chair on a raft that was rowed to the base of the falls and back which we enjoyed. If you have seen Charlie and the chocolate factory film it was rather like the chocolate river!
There was a Berber monkey family who were fun to watch although I would have preferred to see them in the trees rather than begging for food.
Our guide, Hicham Momi, made the trip enjoyable. We enjoyed listening to his language skills as he spoke in English, French and Italian for our group of 17.
Overall a long day and not very inspiring for our teenagers , however I'm sure this would have been different had we felt we could swim.

I visited the waterfall on a one-day trip, departing from Marrakech. The visit of the place is free, but as soon as the minibus parked, a leech-guide appeared, who told us that he would be our guide and that his services had to be paid for. The driver (with whom I suspect he had an arrangement) had already disappeared. Considering that most of the group accepted, I went with the group (we didn't know what time and where the pick-up point for the return was). The so-called guide did his job honorably, told us a few trivia about the place we visited and showed us the way (let's say he was worth his money, less than 5 euros/person, in Moroccan currency). We went down a rudimentary path, on the right bank of the river, and on the way back we went up a well-maintained route, on the left bank. On the way up, we also took a lunch break at one of the few restaurants with a terrace (also chosen by the guide, another "partnership-business").
The waterfall is impressive, worth a visit. At its base there is the option to ride on some improvised rafts, for a fee. Some people also swim, but the water is dirty and muddy.

The waterfall wasn’t that impressive (maybe different other seasons). A very touristy vibe and the restaurant that is pre-booked with the booking (Ando Travel) was expensive (120 dirham) for a lambdish that only included some strings of lamb meet on it. The taste was alright though. The service what really bad and they were nonchalant.
The guide didn’t do or say anything special, so if u want to see the waterfall, do it by driving by with a rental car on the way to something else or something among those lines.

This trip to the waterfalls offered some absolutely stunning scenery that is definitely worth the trip. The guide's pick-up right off the bus was well organized, and his clear instructions for the descent to the waterfalls allowed us to fully enjoy the view without worries. However, it is important to note that the boat to cross is chargeable, as is the crossing itself, which can be a surprise if you are not expecting it. The lunch at the restaurant recommended by the guide was okay, nothing more, but the quick experience allowed us to continue our day without wasting time. The climb to see the monkeys was the perfect opportunity to digest and end this day in a fun way before returning to Marrakech. Overall, a tour I recommend for nature lovers and day adventurers!

It is a very long day out from Marrakech. Something like 5 or 6 hours travel time in total.
The drive travels through some amazing scenery and lovely villages.
The falls them selves are amazing (check how much rain has been if in a dry spell you could get a much less active falls.
I recommend walking down the dirt trail and up the stairs. To get to the falls if a bit of a hike and going up the stairs is a real work out , so if you are not good with many heights of climbing stairs or are not in good shape, this trip is not for you. though you can get some great views from the top with not much exercise.
On the dirt path you should get to see the wild Barbary apes (monkeys).
At the bottom you can take a boat ride under the falls.
There are toilets (for a small fee) , restaurants, snack places, soft drinks and water sales, and many tourist souvenir shops.
You can swim at the bottom if you want, so bring a suit and towel.
The falls are pretty spectacular.
Hope this helps people.

Good morning,
During a short week's stay in Marrakech at the end of August 2023, we chose a day trip to Ouzoud Falls.
As a preamble, when I read other opinions, I am surprised that none of those who wrote them thought for a single minute about the law of gravity. The path leading to the falls is narrow, crowded with tourists and dotted with stalls all selling more souvenirs made in China than an imam can bless, fake perfumes and essential (olive) oil called argan. Gravity... The sides leading to the foot of the falls are studded with deposits of rubbish spread in masses descending towards the pool below where a plethora of bathers frolic with a sort of ferry/raft on which they cling in clusters to pass from one bank to the other. The water is clear as it falls but brown in the pool. Guess why! Has it occurred to any of you that all these small businesses set up wildly on the mountainside of course do not have sewerage? The shopkeepers and their employees spend at least the day there, not to mention the thousands of tourists every day... Gravity and everything ends up down in the pool where all these bathers are bustling around! Hmmm! It's rich! A real two-in-one: the Ouzoud Falls and the Cloaca Maxima of Morocco as a bonus!
The place itself is magnificent without the pollution, the brown waters of the basin, the garbage leaving white streaks like unhealthy claws on the cliffs, the plastic bottles floating. Focus also on the macaques supposed to be protected animals stuffed with peanuts sold to tourists for them to feed. Little hairy and pathetic beggars, they end up getting sick and dying. Did you know ?
A guide ? Why do you do this if not get scammed since you just need to follow the sounds or have a good GPS on your phone. Up in the village you will find small restaurants with reasonable prices and generous quantities served. A restaurant along the falls and it's a sure stamp with the added bonus of a very tough tourist... Participants in the excursion tried it and believe me the return on the bus with the Gerbi stops all the 30 mins weren't fun!
Want to see beautiful waterfalls in clean places? Instead, go to Corsica, to certain corners of central Ardèche, Cantal or Puy de Dôme, or expatriate to Austria or Switzerland.

Beautiful waterfalls with great views from all angles hiking down and up either side. We were approached by a guide upon arrival who for 400Dirham (plus we bought him lunch) took us all the way around, guiding us through the best spots, took photos and helped handle the locals, well worth it. There's a great restaurant that served us bread, salad, dips, chicken skewers and fries, oranges and mint tea for around 100Dir each. Highly recommended paying the 100Dir to do the boat trip up to the waterfall.

Half-day tour.
The guide we had didn't even wait for the group, he did everything at a running pace, there are a lot of stores on the way down... Arrival at the bottom the drive had to be paid (2 euros) and no one told us this when booking. The waterfalls are truly magnificent and the experience of the ride brings a big plus.
Lots of stray dogs (which didn't bother us) but unfortunately some locals were very, very mean towards them, seeing our anger and the fact that we were shocked the guide even went to see the person in question to tell him stop...(I won't say more, it really disgusted us and we weren't the only ones to have felt this way...).
We then ate in a restaurant (which was chosen by the guide) bad experience for me, because I had pieces of glass in the chicken!! and I wasn't the only one!! And the thing I was told was "it's normal, the glasses are chipped, we'll give you a plate again" Who seriously wants to eat after that?
For the monkeys, they are just stuffing themselves with food so you can take photos near them...
In short, too many downsides. Although the waterfalls are truly magnificent (the only positive point), I would not return there because of the things mentioned above.

Truly beautiful, it is incredible that such an oasis is found in the middle of the overwhelming heat of summer. They don't charge an entrance fee, the guides can be a little pushy, but there is always the option of doing it on your own, like I did with my family. In any case, the price of the guide is very economical in relation to the beauty of the place, a very little exploited place fortunately, where you can observe the beauty of nature.

We really enjoyed the waterfalls (we booked a day trip from Marrakech). They are really beautiful carved into the sand stone and with their height of 110m a sight to see. As we booked it as a day trip we had a guide (Mohamed) he was great, really attentive and helpful which made our stay even better.

Ah calcolando che io ho la macchina quindi arriverò da solo a ouzoud.
Grazie in anticipo a tutti
