Smoky Mountain Spinnery is more than just a yarn shop. We specialize in spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, rug hooking, felting and dyeing. With 3000 square feet of fibery goodness you will find something special around every corner and in every nook and cranny. Natural fibers are what we love and we search high and low to offer our customers local products. Woven wearable art from a 5th generation weaver, jewelry made just around the corner, both hand thrown and hand turned yarn bowls and mugs, hand spun yarns found only at Smoky Mountain Spinnery. I've seen this store on the www and finally had the chance to stop. Exceeded my expectations. Sales ladies helpful and knowledgeable. Great variety of fibers and yarns as well as equipment and books. Only entrance I saw was by outside stairs so don't know if there is an alternate.

I am very new to knitting. This store offers many high-end, very beautiful yarns. Since I am new to knitting, I was concerned this yarn might b a little out of my league. I mentioned this on my way out the door, and the lady showed me the sale yarns. The prices were excellent! I was able t get some very nice, alpaca yarn for a decent price. If you are into any hobbies involving yarn - especially if you spin - this is a great shop to visit. Highly recommend. And they ship, too, so I will be ordering from them again!

My mother is really into knitting and always goes to specialty shops. She was able to find several new and exotic fibers here, the staff was very helpful.

Went with my nine year old niece,whom I had taught to knit and crochet. We loved the shop, could have spent the whole day there. Lovely yarns and fleece for spinning,got info about spinning lessons . Will definitely be coming back for lessons. Got mini skeins for bee keepers quilt.
