We rented 2-4 seat rzr’s for 5 hours and got it for the price of 4 hours. We have a 6 and 10 year old. Other family with us has 2-12 year olds. We drove to cades cove. We packed a cooler and snacks. Stopped and let kids get in water. Everyone at mountain life is very professional and helpful! For Aprox $280 we had a blast! We will be doing this every year now! We saw lots of bears! It was awesome! We got stuck behind lots of people looking at bears and knew we were going to be late so as soon as we got signal I called and they said it was no problem at all. We stopped at gas station and filled up and took it back. They check over it quickly. I highly recommend this!

We had a great time in our 4 person razor....plus our dog! We explored areas throughout Gatlinburg, took hikes and scenic routes. The staff was super friendly! Book in advance to make sure you get a reservation! You don’t want to be disappointed if there is no availability last minute. We rode around for 5 hours exploring the mountain, it does get hot so take breaks and pack extra water...getting into the woods definitely cools things down a bit!
I highly recommend Mtn Life UTV rentals!

This was a great way to see the National Park. In my opinion it is much better than in a vehicle. We rented at 9:30 AM, drove through town, then on to Clingman's Dome. Took about an hour to get there, maybe a little less. Ran into some low clouds at Clingman's Dome so we missed the views there. Stopped for a short hike and stretch at the Sugarland visitor center then decided to drive back through town to Roaring Fork Motor Trail. Roaring Fork is a single road/track that is paved with significant drop offs in certain areas. We did stop for a 2:30 hike at Rainbow Falls, in the rain no less, then took the unit back after gassing it up at Food City. Would do it again!

We had a great time for the first couple hours and then our side by side kept stalling so we headed back 2.5 hours early!! We didn’t want to go further into the smokies because we didn’t have cell service and were afraid we would break down. The girl in the office had 100 excuses why it happened. All our fault. She told us when we checked in that we would have plenty of gas to go to Cades Cove and back. But when we told her it kept stalling she said it was because we were to low on gas??? 🧐
Very disappointing that it was instantly our fault, we paid $399 to rent it and didn’t even get to use it the full 8 hours. An apology would of been nice.

This place is running a scam. Don’t rent here. We rented a 6 person UTV for 4 adults and 2 small children (one in a car seat). We told them our plans and they approved. As soon as we left the lot the UTV was struggling a bit and very loud but we figured it was just an older mode and loud and kept going. Once we got to our location (Cades Cove) the UTV was very hot and very loud and we felt like we were a semi coming through disturbing everyone. We got out to hike a bit and cool off ourselves and the UTV and came back and it continued to struggle. Everyone in back were especially hot and now sick from the fumes. There’s no cell cell service there so no way to call for assistance. We decided to return and were fortunate to make it back with it breaking down. We told them something was wrong and they right away before even looking at it said it was the belt. (See other reviews who are all told the same thing. ) the mechanic looked at it and said it wasn’t the belt but something else and they offered us a different vehicle. At this point out day was ruined. We were already out of the park. Hot. Sick from fumes. And only used 5 hours of our 10 hour rental. We asked for a half refund and they flatly refused saying it was our fault. Why didn’t we call for help? Why did we drive it? Really? Why did YOU give us a faulty unsafe vehicle especially knowing we had 2 small children? And why can’t YOU be fair and offer to refund half our day? Why are your staff so RUDE? Not good business. Read other reviews. Apparently this happens all the time at this place. Wish we would have checked them out first. Don’t go here. Plenty of other businesses in the area. We highly recommend renting from the Townsend area and avoiding gatlinberg. So many more trails from Townsend.

Everywhere we read this company came highly recommended and people said to rent early so we did. I booked 3 weeks prior to coming. When we got here some in our party got ill and wanted to go home. We contacted the company on Monday evening (we were booked for Thursday afternoon) to see if we could cancel or at least see what our options were in regards to getting our money back. The confirmation email states that if you are outside of your 72 hours of booking to contact them and see what you can do. We called and kept getting the machine, so we emailed, and then I messaged them on Facebook. No reply. We then spent the next day calling until we finally got someone who said there was no option of money back, but they would give us a voucher to use that would be good for up to 2 years. We live 15 hours away and most likely will not be back within 2 years and the person who rents has to be present so we could not sell them to anyone else, so there were not options. So we moved the UTV ride to the next morning so we could head out after because we paid $900 for 3 machines and could not justify just losing the money. Showed up to pouring rain, no sides on the machines, no windshield wipers, and no options to get a refund…even partially. So my warning to anyone would be….do not preplan at least with this company. If the weather is lousy or if the flu strikes, you are out your money no options. There are tons to rental companies you can book with last minute and not find yourself stuck on a vacation because you cannot get your $900 back.

I rented 3 UTV’s for my family to experience the Great Smokies and visit Clingmans Dome. My son(20) and daughter (24) had a fantastic experience with the rental. Unfortunately my other daughter (27) and I had a very different experience. Before we even pulled out we could tell something was not right with the UTV. Before leaving the rental facility we tried to call one of the guys over to help us but the workers said it was fine and to keep going. Pulling out into traffic from the driveway of the rental facility we again expressed concerns but we told to give it more gas and to keep going so we did. The whole time (3 hours) it road rough, bucked, oil change light came on, and the steering wheel locked at one point, it was just all around awful ride. We tried calling for help but it went to voicemail. When we got back I again told the worker of all the problems but he insisted the UTV was fine. The overall experience was excellent for two of my party and poor for myself which is why I gave it a three star. Booking was easy, the counter help was extremely pleasant and helpful, and most of my party had a wonderful experience. I just wish my concerns were taken more seriously and a substitute vehicle would have been offered.

It was fun riding through the Smoky Mountain Parkway.
The bumper to bumper traffic at times in the Parkway and the town of Gatlinburg is really rough and jerky. The centrifical clutch actuation is not user friendly in the stop and go traffic. The UTV is not like an automatic car as far as smoothness goes and these vehicles are extremely loud. Also, there is a lot of heat from the engine in the 2 seater that's transferred to the occupants.
The employees were friendly.

Fun way to see the National Park BUT make sure you have enough time to sit in the Gatlinburg traffic - it eats 45 minutes off your rental time leaving the rental location and upon returning. The machines are very loud (which they do not tell you and if I knew I would have brought war protection). You can’t talk to the people in your machine without screaming.

Also - they did not offer a refund compensation for the one 6 seater our party rented when the check engine light came on half way through our time. They had us return to the shop (which again was through 45 minutes of traffic to get there and to leave again). Then they checked it and said it was fine. If wasn’t fine. It came on again and the machine wouldn’t go over 10 miles/hour. Had to stay around town instead of going to Clingman’s Dome with the other half of our family in the other machine. No compensation received at all.

It is a LOT of money to be split up from our family and not get to see what we set out to see because of a faulty machine.

Seat belts not plugged cause the machine to go 10 miles a hour and the staff checked the machine. They drove it up and down the road with no problems. You guys stayed out your whole time. We are sorry if the machine did have something else going on that day. We checked the machine again that night and sent it out the next day with no problems.

We rode our UTV for 20 minutes. The belt blew up and almost caused us to roll back down the mountain. We spend over 240$ for 20 minutes and then had to catch a ride back to their location. There we were yelled at by the receptionist and waited another hour and a half for them to recover the vehicle. After waiting the hour and a half we were then told we have to pay an additional 150$ for the belt because “it was replaced two days prior” and we were not allowed to see the documentation for that. They did not communicate anything that was happening and we spent the whole time we should have been driving around waiting. For almost 400$ we were able to drive for under a half hour and were yelled at and disrespected. Please take your money down the street. I wish I could leave less than 1 star.
