If I could give 6 stars I would!! I highly recommend this for everyone in the family! My 12 year old son even enjoyed it. I am now looking for my own pottery wheel. Mike was so nice and made us feel at home. The class was so much fun! Mike was patient and showed us exactly what to do and made sure we finished with a piece we were all proud of. Will definitely do this again when we go back to the mountains. Thank you Fowler’s Clay Works for helping make our vacation a trip to remember!

My sisters and I wanted to do something fun and different for our sister trip! This was so fun and we got some wonderful and unique pottery to remember our year sister trip!! I would definitely recommend this activity for an amazing time and unique gift to always remember your time in Gatlinburg!!

Mike was a fantastic instructor! Down to earth, fun, knowledgeable and everyone left with a really cool mug. So many beautiful pieces of pottery in the shop for purchase after class too. I would definitely take another class there.

Mike makes you feel right at home when you walk in the door. His work is beautiful. It is true quality craftsmanship. His prices are fair, and customer service is great. It is a "must see" every time I'm in Gatlinburg. I always get complimented on the pieces I buy there.

Now we're the furthest thing from artists but since we were coming out to TN, why not expand our horizons and take this Face Mug class. One of the best decisions we've ever made and a definite highlight of our trip. Our instructor, Karen, helped us each craft a face mug, explaining each step and which tools (gotta use the right tool for the job) to use to create our masterpiece. A recommended class whether you have artistic ability, or not. You won't be disappointed. Mike (the owner) has a Make a Mug Experience class where you craft a mug. If we return to the area, we will definitely sign up. Note that you won't take home your Face Mug the same day, as the mug still needs to be glazed. I believe the timeline for receipt is approximately 12 weeks after your class. Take pictures before you leave the class. Regarding items in the shop, items are varied and unique and are great gifts, even to yourself. We should know, since we purchased quite a bit for family and friends and colleagues. I believe you can commission Fowler's Clay Works to create individual and custom items, but please check with Fowler.

We were a group of 8 ranging in age from 20 to 70. Mike Fowler himself was our instructor. He really seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge and encouraged us at each step. All our mugs turned out differently but beatifully. Everyone had a blast! Highly recommend taking a class! If that's not your thing, there is gorgeous pottery for sale in the shop. Mike Fowler at Fowler’s clay works deserves more than 5 stars! We did the “make a mug class” on 6-21-24. The shop was so cute, the staff were so nice. The class was enlightening, educational and so so fun! Our family made mugs and we cannot wait to receive them! Mike was patient with our son, Patient with us adults and made the day great! Mr. Fowler is very talented. His work is impeccable, he also does corporate gift orders at phenomenal pricing and this guy even has a podcast, so book the class and tune in! We will be back!

During a family reunion a group of us took the Make A Mug class at Fowler's Clay Works. It was an awesome experience! As promised we each, of varying levels of experience, were able to create a custom piece. Mike Fowler is a patient, kind, and good humored teacher. We very much enjoyed the experience and the beautiful handmade items in their shop.

Awesome experience!!! Our second time to create a wonderful piece! Our first experience was with another married couple and this time just my wife and I. This was our last stop on our visit to the arts and craft community in Gatlinburg. I found what I had been looking for the whole time at a great price. Met the owner who does all the work. There is a great support staff and their prices were very reasonable. If you are looking for anything ceraminc..stop in!
