My family stopped at Cooters Garage becouse my son is a big "Dukes of Hazzard" fan.
It had lot's of pictures from the original show, costumes, video, the General Lee, Daisy's Jeep, Cooters Truck, and Rosco's patrol car, etc.
Then of course they had souvenir's like hats, t-shirts, pictures, car tags, etc.
You could also have your picture taken in the General Lee or other vehicle for a small $10.00 fee. $5 if you take it yourself
We were lucky enough to be there the day Cooter "Ben jones" was in town. We met him and he is an awesome guy, very friendly.
I would definately recomend stopping by for a peek if you are in the area. It will bring back memories of simpler times.
The only negative thing I can advise is the parking is difficult since the area is small. well worth it though.

It’s not $25, it’s totally free! Tons of souvenir items and show memorabilia. If you want to take pictures with the General Lee (or an of the other show vehicles ie Daisy’s Jeep, Roscoe’s cruiser, etc...) they charge $5. You use your own camera and can take as many pics as you want so it’s totally worth it!

For a weekend getaway, we surprised our kids (6 and 4) with a trip to see Cooter's Place. A really cute FREE museum complete with General Lee, Sheriff's car and tow truck. They love the old reruns on CMT and were amazed at all the old costumes and props from the show. Thanks Mr and Mrs Ben Jones for an awesome time. Also we want to thank Rick Hurst (Cleatus) who was there signing autographs (3/11/06) and was the kindest, polite man who really enjoyed being there (or at least he seemed to be). He could not of been nicer! Really put the icing on the cake for us. Thanks!!

My grandfather recently decided to discontinue his chemo and live out the rest of his days happy and doing things he loves. One of his favorite places in the world is Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge; so we decided a family trip would be fun while he is still able.

Anyone who knows him knows he loves riding go carts. So Thursday afternoon we headed to Cooter's Place bc it was too cold for my grandfather to ride go carts outside. Although it was a small track it was a blast!!!! 8 people on the track at once sliding all over and running into one another. It was so fun to see him smile and feel young again. It actually brought tears to mine and my mom's eyes.

When we were done riding I thanked the gentleman at the desk (so sorry I didn't get his name) I told him about my grandfather and that this would most likely be his last vacation and that I appreciated them allowing him to ride and smile for one more day. I then told him I wanted to pay to have my grandfather's picture made in the General Lee; and without skipping a beat he replied, "It's on me!" ....it was everything I could do not to cry and jump over the counter to hug him...one more smile for my grandfather....now it wasn't much but it was priceless to me and my family.

Thank you for making this day something my family will never forget. It is a memory we will have to cherish for the rest of our lives long after my grandfather is gone to heaven! May God bless you and your business; as words of the thanks will never be enough!

Cooters museum is much more than just a gift shop , it was one of many highlights in Nashville and we had a great 1-1.5 hours reminising about the show looking through the museum section and then we bought at the gift shop

Great place for Dukes Of Hazzard fans to visit. They had tons of stuff to buy. They had the horn that I totally love lol. They had lots of t-shirts. It's a Nashville must stop. Our 14 & 11yr old loved sitting down watching the tv of Dukes episodes.

More of a touristy store instead of a museum. The people there did not even acknowledge you when you walked in. If you want to go ride go carts on a small indoor track it would be a great place to go. We appreciated the experience, but not really a place that we would love to visit again.

As a Dukes of Hazzard fan, it seems natural to want to go to an attraction named after Cooter, a character on the show, while on vacation. I was hoping that the visit would bring back memories of my youth, instead it was just disappointing. There is so much potential for this attraction too, which makes it even more frustrating to see it in its current reality.

First, the place has a General Lee car you can sit in, take pictures with, etc. However, the cost to do this is prohibitive. Even to take a picture with your own camera costs $5. There is no special set up or anything, it is just a car on a floor. If you are going to charge for pictures, make it something special or charge a nominal admission charge to the "museum" and let people take pictures for free (and maybe charge only to sit in the car).
This brings me to the second point. The "museum" portion is severely lacking. It looks like it was random stuff collected in the 1980s and hasnt been touched since. The owners of this attraction should EXPAND the memorabilia collection and add more cool things from the show. This really should be the driving factor to get people like me through the door. Put cool stuff in the place that brings back memories, in conjunction with the General Lee and you have an attraction.
Third point--the Go Karts. Dont bother. Why even have a track if it is only a small loop that is at most 20 feet of straight away. I cant imagine why people would pay to race karts on this track. I recommend getting rid of this waste of space and expanding the memorabilia/museum collection. If you REALLY want to keep go karts as part of this attraction, put a decent track outside if there is room on the lot.
Fourth, more than half the place is full of random crap for sale. There is no particular rhyme or reason to many of the items, and very few of them even reference the fact you purchased it from "Cooters Garage." If I really wanted a random Dukes of Hazzard t-shirt I could buy that online. I want something to remember my visit by. Get rid of the crap and focus on stuff that people will buy to commemorate their visit to the expanded museum collection.
Fifth, yes, it has mini golf. Again, not sure why. Is the attraction there to get people to play mini golf or to experience the Dukes of Hazard. If you want to do mini golf there are certainly better places out there. Why would you choose this place. Again, the owners need to update this if they want to keep the golf and make it more interesting and exciting for Dukes of Hazard fans. Make me want to come in the place to see something cool and I may be more likely to stay and play...especially if there is more memorabilia on the mini golf course or something else that makes it unique.
Anyway, as is right now this attraction is light on the "attraction" and heavy on empty promises. So much potential which is really being squandered currently. Hopefully someone comes in and transforms this into something worthwhile.
