Ghost and Haunt Tour of Gatlinburg

546 reviews
The Smoky Mountain area of Tennessee is home to much more than just striking scenery — it’s also where the ghosts and ghouls of Gatlinburg are known to haunt. Learn all about the spooky history of this town with a 2-hour night walking tour, during which you’ll hunt supernatural spirits and possibly communicate with the local "residents" yourself.

I want my money back. Why is this even still a ride? Not worth the money at all. Should consider closing and replacing with something else

For those that appreciate dated animatronics and special effects, don't pass this one by so quickly. I have a fondness for the older, campy draws in the Gatlinburg area. I finally decided to give Earthquake a go and I am glad I did. You are loaded into a tiny vehicle of 8 and then shuttle into a small portion of track with a series of special effects. Among those effects includes an animatronic gorilla, an alligator, an abundance of rats, water, breaking pavement, and a homeless guy sleeping through the whole thing. The vehicle itself bucked around a little more than I was expecting, which was also a nice plus. You clock in at somewhere around 4 minutes of total time. This is just about everything I could hope for from an aging tourist trap. The cost of the attraction, however, is $10.99. The cost to entertainment time ratio is one of the worst in the area, hence the star deduction. If Earthquake was $5, I would probably do it every time I came and I would give the attraction 5 stars. To decide if this is worth it for you, I recommend watching one of the blurry YouTube videos that exist and basing it off that. I saw the animatronic gorilla and knew I had to do it. Glad I did. If you want to make for an expensive one-two of animatronic cheese, do this and, my other favorite, the Jurassic Boat Adventure in one day.

Nothing could make this ride worse. First of all the seats are not really meant for those of us with some extra girth. I don't have to get a seat belt extension on a plane, but we had to juggle seats to find a belt to accommodate me. The ride itself was best summed up by my daughter when she asked, "WTF was that?" Imagine being in a wheelchair and having someone trip it back wheely style, while around you there are flashing lights, an anamatronic gorilla, and other stuff. Now I've saved you $12.

This ride was cool in 1990. It lasted maybe 5 minutes. A total waste all the way around. Pass it by.

So....it looked very promising from the outside, but we were terribly disappointed to find that the earthquake ride only went forward a few feet then back then forward and then back. Just say no and go play mini golf!! Trust me!!
