Our private, customized tour with Great Smoky Mountain Eco Tours was a terrific experience from start to finish. We reached out through their website with a list of sites we wanted to see during our trip to the Smokies. Michael responded with a full-day itinerary which we then tweaked to further meet our needs. We found that booking this private tour for 4 adults was more time-efficient and cost effective than booking group tours for the various sites we wanted to see.
The tour was a pleasure. Michael and his son, Christopher, picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel in Pigeon Forge. The van was comfortable and clean; snacks and drinks were provided; and Michael drove the winding roads like a pro! Our tour included major Smoky highlights as well as a lovely picnic spot for us to sit, relax, and enjoy a bag lunch.
Michael and Christopher were professional, courteous, and fun to chat and share stories with throughout the day. They provided ample time and background information at the various sites we visited, and they recommended other sites to see during our stay.
I wholeheartedly recommend Great Smokey Mountain Eco Tours to anyone looking to make the most of their time during a trip to the area.

We had a great experience with Michael and will definitely use them again anytime our time and hike matters. Worked with Michael a few months before our trip to get options for future planning. We had a one night definite trip to stay overnight at the Mt. LeConte lodge on top of the mountain over Gatlinburg which is only 50’ lower than Clingman’s Dome. The only way in and out is a min of a 5.5 mile hike and could only stay on a specific night. After coordinating with Michael definite plans for pickup he was great and on time and made my wife very comfortable with both conversation, great vehicle and information. We had bad weather the day before our hike and made him aware of our plans. But once we got to the top of the mountains the other planned paths down were blocked by downed trees and the other had flash flooding on some creeks that would have to wade through. I messaged Michael in the middle of the night and early next morning to plan a new unplanned trip with him to pick us up at the Alum Cave Trailhead if he was available. He made changes to make it work. When we made it down both he and us were 30 min early. As he open the door a crack of lightning hit. As we quickly got in and soon after heavy storms and more flash flooding occurred with little pigeon river in town was 4’ high already and a few inches on the roads. Amazing timing and flexibility from Michael helped make it a great trip instead or absolute chaos to come down other options. Absolutely will use Michael again and recommend him. Thank you!

If you are heading to the Smokies this summer and are in need of shuttle services throughout the park, then Great Smoky Mountain Eco Tours is who you need to use! Mike provided outstanding shuttle services to my buddies and me last year for our overnight stay at LeConte Lodge, so he was our go-to again this year and, once again, he did not disappoint. My sons and I also used him a handful of weeks later for a day hike to LeConte.
Each time, Mike has arrived ahead of scheduled pick-up time and has provided safe and clean shuttles, as well as entertaining and informative conversation during the travels. He was even willing to modify pick up times with me on the last two trips as I asked for a change in schedule from the mountain. He’s also prepared with cold drinks, healthy snacks, and insect repellent if you need it.
Words to best describe Great Smoky Mountain Eco Tours: timely, clean, helpful, informative, flexible, friendly, and top notch service.

We had an awesome experience with Great Smoky Mountain Eco Tours. They did a great job shuttling us from our car to the start of our hike. Not only were they professional, responsive and prompt with their timing, they also are very knowledgeable about the park and we learned quite a bit during the ride. I would highly recommend their services and would definitely use them again.

Great experience with this father son duo for tour of Great Smoky Mountains & guided hike to Grotto falls. Michael & Christopher are both knowledgeable about the area & the ecology & are kind & friendly to work with. It was so relaxing for me to not have to worry about driving on curvy mountain road or to find the trailhead or parking for the day & to just enjoy nature & hiking. They picked us up at the hotel early in the morning & brought us back to the hotel at the end of the tour. They also helped us figure out what hike & tour would be best suited to our interest & abilities with many different trails & tours to choose from. Beautiful scenery throughout & standing behind the falls was a highlight. The picnic lunch by the stream at the end of the day was the perfect way to end the tour. I highly recommend this tour /shuttle group for your Great Smoky Mountain adventure.

From the point of the initial call to Michael til the time he said goodbye to us, this company was so easy to do business with. Very personable, van was exceptionally clean, knowledgeable and you felt like you had known each other forever. We not only had a shuttle driver but also a tour director. He was always waiting on us, and was ready with drinks and snacks on hand for us! I cannot say enough good things about this company! Thank you Michael and Christopher! You made it so easy and wonderful!

We have been using Michael and GSMET for hiker shuttle services for the past couple of years. They are always early for pickups, their van is immaculate and very comfortable, and Michael is a wealth of knowledge. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Wonderful guide! Shuttled us to and from our trailhead - arrived early with fruit and snacks and was so kind to keep us entertained while waiting for one of our group the was struggling to make it back. Kept us entertained on the drive with facts and sights of the area. Highly recommend!!

We used GSM Eco Tours so that we could hike up and down two different trails after staying at Mt. Leconte. Michael and Cristopher showed up early at both pick up locations, even after I changed a time late in game. We were so happy to see them when we came down the mountain as we were certain we would have to wait. The van was clean and both were knowledgeable about the area. They stopped so we could see some bears after seeing none after 19 miles of hiking. We will use again on our next GSMNP visit. We highly recommend for your shuttle needs.
