While on a thanksgiving getaway, there were 2 free things goin on. A fund raiser christmas tree festival and an arts and craft show. Even with 100’s of people the place was very clean.

If you're a crafter, you have to make time to visit the biannual craft fair at the Convention center. I try not to miss it, even when I was living overseas. My favorite is the Christmas craft show, but the spring one is almost the...More

This was the second time we have been to the craft show. We usually stay just up the street from the Convention Center so it's an easy walk. If you are thinking of going back a second day just go to the office after paying...More

We went for the festival of trees and the craft show. Everything was centrally right in off the street. It was clean and well lit. Restrooms were clean and they had vending machines. The signs for the events made them easy to locate. Decorations in...More

We attended the Gatlinburg Christmas Arts & Crafts Fair at the Gatlinburg convention center. The Tennessee artists and craftspeople create and sell quilts, old-fashioned straw brooms, exquisitely woven baskets, hand-dipped scented candles, hand-crafted leather and jewelery and more. Live dulcimer music filled the air as...More

We visited the craft fair on Thanksgiving weekend. The facility is much larger than it looks from outside. It has a multitude of exhibit halls and conference rooms. The decor is modern and it is well maintained.

We were there for the annual Christmas Craft show and we were not impressed by the show or the facility. They were having electrical problems, escalator problems and the facility is looking pretty dated.

Went to the craft show. Admission was free. The vendors were all very unique! Got some great gifts and some local honey. Well worth the visit!

We have been going to the Smoky Show for nearly 30 years and this Convention Center does it right. Vast area to accommodate the exhibitors and still leave the buyers enough room to get around.

There are trolleys that service the main strip of Gatlinburg, and a very few Uber drivers. I was there 2 weeks ago , and only had 2 Uber drivers available at any given time.

There are "pay" parking lots on both sides of the road- worst case scenario you have to walk a few short blocks

cabin for large group (2 Replies)
Does anybody know of a large cabin or two medium near the Gatlinburg convention center? Possibly walking distance. Or a hotel within walking distance. I am bringing a large group in January to a convention. If a cabin we want it close in case of icy or snow roads.

There are no cabins within walking distance of the convention center only motels. There are rental cabins up on every mountainside overlooking the town but far from walking distance. There are some rental condos available down on Baskins Creek Rd. which is a fair to middlin' hike from the convention center. Call the city's visitor center for a reference. Good Luck!!

I have attended the craft fair in July for as long as I can remember and always find new and different items as well as the regular crafters. I also highly recommend it to everyone. My husband enjoys the live entertainment and food samples and my grandkids also enjoy it. The admission fee is very reasonable.

I have not looked at the TA Restaurant review section for a while. And the number #1 Restaurant in all of Gatlinburg is........Kilwins Is it just me, or is "Kilwins" not a restaurant? Its a candy store. Is it just me, or is the Gatlinburg Convention center not a restaurant? It is a.....convention center. You can report it to TA, and they might remove them! I do that whenever I see incorrect information on TA. Just go to the help center (botton of page), click on "contact us" and then General Support. I think (?) they get listed wrong when people request a new listing, and then they catorgorize it incorrectly. Wanted to add: I don't think they'll remove the Kilwin's listing, since it appears to be an ice cream parlor and TA throws them in with restaurants. But they should remove the...More
