We had the best time on the triangle X float trip. First off, the cookout dinner before the float was amazing. Best deal for a delicious and quality meal before our floats. The cookout chefs served us dinner and cooked the steak & chicken right there in front of us. We had steak, chicken, green beans, potatoes and a delicious salad. You can’t beat this dinner for the price! Cookout chefs were super friendly and professional.
The float was absolutely breathtaking. We took a trip with Jeff, who was able to point out wildlife and answer all our questions about the river and the area. We went on a raft with one other family, but we were on complete separate sides of the raft, which made us feel safe and secure during the time of COVID. You cannot best the views of the Tetons on the water. 100% recommend for families (young and older), couples, or groups of friends.

Our family of four did the scenic float trip this past week. Our guide was Matt and he did an amazing job. Triangle X is a very professional business and I would highly recommend them without reservation. Matt was very knowledgeable about the area, competent in his operation of the boat, and was great to our kids 6 and 9). The scenery and view of the Tetons alone was worth the trip. We were fortunate and were able to see Bison, Moose, fish, bald eagles (including a baby), and much more. Our trip in total consisted of South Dakota, Yellowstone, the Tetons, and Rocky Mountain National Park. The float trip was our favorite out of the entire trip and we did so many incredible things. We also saw a guided fly fishing trip that was being operated by Triangle X. Needles to say, that is now on my bucket list. Thank you Triangle X and thanks to Matt for being an incredible guide.

We were on the Dinner float...wonderful food before stepping in to our raft for a float down the Snake River. Matt was an exceptional guide!! The knowledge he shared of the wildlife and the history of the entire park was phenomenal. We actually waited until the raft was secured after our trip was over so we could hear the end of his last story!!
The sunset was very pretty over the Grand Tetons. There was a smoky haze from the smoke of the California wildfires, while sad for California, put a beautiful effect on the evening sunset.
We 4 floating Grannies had a great ride. This float was 4 grandmas on a road trip. Ages 84, 59, and two 56 year olds!!

My husband and I took this float trip on a last minute (day of!) booking and we were so happy we did. Jim was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and answered any question our group threw at him. We had a group of 8 on our tour (probably due to Covid; I believe the norm is 12) and it was perfect. Jim made sure both ends of the boat got their share of the views, turning the boat so that everyone got a chance to take everything in. We didn’t see much wildlife like we’d hoped, but there was some acitivity. It’s a cool perspective to experience the Tetons from the water, and you just get to relax and enjoy the ride! You can wear normal clothes, don’t get wet, and can bring your camera along with no worries.

Matt was an incredible guide with endless knowledge as we floated the deep meandering Snake River. Not only did he capture our attention, but the sheer number of wildlife we saw, which included 6 bald eagles, one eaglet and one large bull Moose was incredible! The kids had a blast and we couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. Thanks for adding to our highlight reel!!

My friend and I took the 5:30 scenic float trip last week with Matt as our guide. He was very personable and we learned a lot about the history of the Tetons while enjoying a beautiful trip down the Snake River. We saw so much wildlife - beavers, elk, moose, eagles, a peregrine falcon - and even a racoon trying to swim across the river. I highly recommend Triangle X Ranch float trips Ask if you can get Matt as your guide.

Our trip had some beautiful scenery. We appreciated all the great views of the Teton's. Our guide (Nate) had only been on the job for 6 weeks and wasn't that engaging. He offered very little unless someone asked a question. For the trip to be better it would have been helpful for him to offer insights and information about the river, the town, the park, etc that people would appreciate. He seemed more interested in waiting for people to ask him something before he would offer things up. There was a point at the very end when you cross under a cable across the river. He didn't say anything until someone asked what it was. Only then did he explain the story about the ferry and the person who ran it.

We loved every moment. I really like that this float takes you through the National Park. Felt safe during Covid times. Our teenage daughters said this was their favorite experience on our vacation. We did the evening dinner float. The only time we were with others in close proximity was on the short bus trip, but everyone wore masks and sanitized hands. Dinner was outdoors and delicious! The float trip was so beautiful and peaceful. Our guide Matt learned everyone's name and we learned all kinds of interesting historical and scientific facts along the trip. We saw bald eagles, and beavers, and amazing scenery.

We had an excellent scenic float down the Snake River with our guide James at Triangle X. Quite frankly, as someone who's done a lot of white water rafting I wasn't that excited about a scenic float trip, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our 9 days in Grand Teton and Yellowstone. We saw multiple bald eagles, a golden eagle, a moose calf and mother. James, who was a former park ranger, was the best. His knowledge of the region (and we threw out a ton of questions throughout the trip) was extensive, was like there was nothing we could ask that he didn't know something about, so informative. And for a 2 hour float he did a really nice job of narrating, answering questions, and providing interesting stories along the way without feeling the need to always be talking, not always an easy balance. Probably the best guided tour of any kind that I've ever taken. And the views of Grand Teton from the river left you speechless.

Well-planned and easy from start to finish. We waited in a pickup area where we were assigned to vans that eventually became our raft. Guide did an excellent job with safety briefing and then we all got on the raft. It was a wonderful experience. Very calm, didn't get splashed. Never a concern of falling out. Guide did an amazing job of narrating history, answering questions, pointing out wildlife (saw 2 bald eagles). Also gave us tips for places to eat and things to do in Jackson.
Tips: bring water bottle, sunscreen, and sunglasses. We had a mostly overcast day but it was still quite warm, though there was a nice breeze on the water. From a timing standpoint, meeting time was 215, we were loaded onto vans by 225 and at the site 10 miles upriver by 240. On the rafts by 250 and off by about 445 (so about 2 hours on the river).
Would 100% do this again next time in the Tetons!

I would like to know how easy it is to get and out of the boat. I think I could do it with a little help. Just need to know if this grandmother can handle it. Thanks.!

I traveled with 29 other senior citizens ages 60 - 88 years old. The guides were very helpful and even the seniors who relied on a cane found it quite easy to get in and out!

Where exactly is the meeting spot? Website directions seem vague.
Written September 9, 2016
It's at Moose Junction in Grand Teton Park-there's a huge visitor's center and you park there (there is signage about float trip parking) and there's signs for meeting up with the guides. The guides will wander around as all the trips meet there and they'll announce the name of the float company - it's a bit confusing but everyone is in the same boat! (Sorry - bad pun)

Are the dinner float trips still available in early September?
Written August 17, 2016
Our last dinner float of the season is on August 19. We will continue our regular 10 mile evening trips throughout the month of September, however.

Is the whole trip within the national park? Do you have rights to do it in the National park?
Written May 31, 2016
Hello Singhvi,
To answer your question, yes the scenic float trips that we offer are entirely within Grand Teton National Park. Triangle X is one of a few companies that have permits to operate scenic trips in the park.
Thank you for your interest in Triangle X Float Trips.
