Lydell Lane (Navajo guide) mesmerized us with his skill at helping us capture the astounding beauty of the canyon with our cameras, and shared the history of the canyon and his tribe. Happily, visiting in February (no crowds) afforded us extra personalized time and attention on our tour. We learned useful photography tips from this pro, and enjoyed seeing the ladder he welded himself! The guides are also responsible for maintenance of the canyon (he joked that it weeded out those who didn’t REALLY love their jobs)—and we were privy to some great stories! Worth it—Dixie is Ken’s sister (adjacent Navajo companies), so your tour cost offers support for local economies. Highly recommended!

We reserved the 3:45p tour, and it turned out to be a great time. The day was warm, but the canyon was much cooler, and the colors in the canyon were amazing at that time of day. Our tour guide, Doreen, was very knowledgeable about the history of the canyon and was a WHIZ with a camera. She told us how and where to take great photos - even with a phone. Some of the panoramic photographs she took of my family will be shortly hanging on my wall. Because of Covid, you must wear a mask (I recommend their see through ones), but the groups sizes are limited to 10, which is awesome. I highly recommend this tour!

We had a fabulous experience in Lower Antelope Canyon with Dixie Ellis Tours in late November. Our mid day time slot provided great colors and light/shadow contrast. The canyon is stunning and longer than we expected and truly amazing shapes. We were given a generous amount of time and our group of 9 people was not too large. Brandon Begay was our guide and he gave us a really great tour with information about the geology, plus lots of photography tips to make sure that everyone got excellent results with their cameras and phones. I highly recommend both the location and the tour company! You won’t be disappointed.

Our tour was canceled due to rain and a flood risk. This was fine and not avoidable. However, the email notifying me of the cancellation said that I did not need to do anything to get a refund. I then got 2 emails indicating that my refunds was being processed. 10 days later I had no refund so I called in and was told that they could not refund me because my payment was on the old system and they would have to mail me a check.
1. The emails saying my refund was being processed were clearly a lie and set a deceptive expectation.
2. The tours were booked up when I booked it, so most people had clearly booked under the old system and the manager I spoke to said it is taking them a while to work through getting the refund information for everyone. If true, that suggests that MOST bookings requires this and they should not have set the expectation of automatic refunds.
3. They showed no expediency in getting me a refund and I had to fight to get it mailed out priority mail tomorrow (still waiting on a tracking number)
I can’t help but think that it is calculated robbery scheme whereby most people paid ~6 months ago and won’t notice that they didn’t get a refund and then Dixie’s isn’t out as much for canceling.
Fingers crossed that I don’t have to call my bank and initiate a chargeback.

Our family has traveled the world and been to many beautiful sites. However, the Dixie Ellis Lower Antelope Canyon Tour was by and far the best experience we’ve ever had. This was 100% because of our tour guide, Stacy. SHE WAS PHENOMENAL! We were a part of her last tour of the day and apologized to us in advance because she was exhausted. We were happy to just walk through the canyon, we had no idea that even at her most exhausted that she would make this tour as amazing as she did. This tour far exceeded our expectations because of her. Even my teenage kids who are far less impressed with beautiful scenery than their parents, said that this was the best thing we’ve done in a long time. Stacy not only took every opportunity to educate us on the geology of the formations, including showing us personal photos of her and another staff member pushing water through the canyon, but whenever there was a stall because of a group in front of us, she would have us gather close and give us more history. She herself is part of the tribal Nation and shared so many personal stories about her culture and the history of her people on the land. As if that was not enough, she also knew all of the perfect photo ops and showed us how to get the right settings on our phones to get the best photos. My teens sent some of the photos to their friends back home and their friends thought that they were taken off of Google. The ultimate cherry on this amazing sundae of an experience was that Stacy repeatedly asked us if we wanted individual or family photos. Literally we have 140+ photos that she took of our family on our phones…all of which look professional. We could not have asked or hoped for a better experience. She educated us, made us laugh so much, and made us feel like family. Our only complaint is that now our family and friends want us to come back with them, and we know that the experience won’t compare unless we have Stacy for a tour guide again. She ruined all future tours for us because she was that great. We love Stacy and hope that she’ll be at Dixie Ellis Lower Antelope Canyon Tours when we come back with additional family and friends in the future.

This is one of the most beautiful, unique spots on the planet. Our Navajo guide, Ian Black Horse Johnson, enhanced our breathtaking tour with his enthusiasm, knowledge, care for our safety, and photography skills. With our cel cameras he took our pictures at his favorite viewpoints and of the viewpoints themselves at the very best angles. Our group now possesses personal and scenic photos worthy of framing. We learned many things, among them that the gorgeous canyon wasn’t a sacred place for the Navajo, rather a hideout from the US Army in the 1800s. Ian told us about the wildlife, the canyon’s upkeep, and more about the Navajo language and culture. My main thought upon climbing out of the canyon was that it was worth the price, and that everyone on earth should experience it.

10/10 What a sight! We travelled from LA to here, and couldn’t recommend a place to visit more!
Oliver is THE MAN, such a pleasure to have him as our tour guide. He was super nice and kind, very knowledgeable and informative. He took the time to explain all the lil tid bits of history of the millions of years built in the cave. Also, he taught us some facts about his culture and his native origins which was so cool! Wish could’ve heard more!
More importantly he took the time to take pictures for ALL the tourists of his group and even had cool ideas with the panoramic setting of the phones and the canyon’s famous pictures!
Thank you!

My family and I went to the lower antelope Canyon with the Dixie company. There's a couple reasons why this tour was very memorable. When we got there, we had accidentally arrived an hour early due to daylight savings, and the lady at the counter was very accommodating She clearly explained what you could and could not bring on the tour. There's a nice open patio in the back where all those taking a tour arrive and congregate. It appeared that groups of 8 to 10 were set up with each tour guide.
We had an excellent tour guide. His name was Orin Yellowman. Not only did he guide us through the canyon, he also gave us a detailed history behind the canyon and its meaning to the Navajo. He thoroughly explained some of the intricate details of the canyon and provided feedback on how to properly take certain pictures. Orin he's also a photographer and helped us manipulate the settings on our cameras to help take the most optimal pictures. He even used my daughter's 20 year old camera to take such exquisite pictures that I didn't even think we could get with that camera. He took his time and made sure of that each family had a nice picture at some of the most scenic turn points. he was also interested in us asking questions.
After the tour is over, Orin gave us some good suggestions to go to for more scenic areas in Page- areas that are not necessarily so congested with tourists.
I highly recommend this to touring group, as it did appear that they are very organized, on time, and very accommodating. I also highly recommend Orin as your tour guide..

There aren't enough words to describe the experience of Antelope Canyon. The sublime beauty of this treasure is beyond words. The power of nature to create this amazing place is humbling. But enough about Antelope Canyon, let me share a bit about Dixie's
1. Booking was easy. I did it the old fashioned way and called. I had questions, and the team had answers. Friendly, patient and knowledgeable customer service on the phone enabled me to book a great tour.
2. Get to Dixie's well in advance of your tour. This will give you a chance to talk to the staff about the area, life on the reservation as well as see some native culture/art. I was able to see a traditional hoop dance exhibition. To see it done in such a natural state was awesome.
3. Young Ely guided our tour and I feel fortunate that he was. He was able to speak about what we were seeing and how it came to be. He shared stories on visitors to Dixie's as well as stories about his life on the reservation. More importantly, he provided a steady and safe hand in an environment that is subtly dangerous. There are steep steps/ladders/inclines/declines as well as tight areas to cross, not to mention an uneven/sandy surface throughout. Like an adept lifeguard, Ely made sure we knew he was watching, without having to tell us. He made this tour infinitely more enjoyable.

Oliver was our tour guide on our recent tour through Lower Antelope Canyon. Our entire experience far exceeded our expectations. We had done a kayak excursion the day prior on lake Powell- (which was also excellent) and we were uncertain if going through Dixie’s for the lower portion would be overkill. We HIGHLY recommend doing both if you can- you get a completely different view of the canyon on the walking tour at Dixie’s than you do on a kayak excursion. Oliver was great in sharing so much information about the canyon and also taking our pictures!

What is the total time it takes to take this tour, including transportation to and from the canyon? I’m trying to figure out if we took an 11am tour of Lower Antelope Canyon with Dixie’s if we could get to Monument Valley by about 5pm. Complicating this further is that I think Page does not do daylight savings time but Monument Valley does.

Hola!

È vicino a Page ?
Si paga il parcheggio ? Quanto ?

Hello, do you come back out of the canyon up the same ladders that you go in? or do you have to walk through the canyon to another set of ladders to come out? thank you!

You go down stairs to enter. You come out at the other end of the canyon up a series of ladders.

We did it separately. Lower Canyon took us about an hour because the start was pretty crowded. And we took our time at he horse shoe because it was really beautiful. From the parking to the horse shoe and back took us about 45 -55 minutes

Is the lower antelope canyon tour hard for kids? I heard its pretty steep..kids age 10yrs old and 6 yrs old...thoughts ?

I think kids that age can do it, no problem. There are many steps down into the canyon, but good handrails that seem very safe. There are so many people, though, you’d want to keep the kids under control.
