Decided to book the Dixie Ellis' Lower Antelope Canyon Tour after some late-night research and was pleasantly surprised they had availability on such short notice. Upon arriving, it appears just as every other tourist trap; however, it quickly exceeded our expectations. After checking in, they share some of the history of the Navajo people and the land, followed by a live "hoop dance" performance by a local tribe member.

Given hundreds of people visit each day, they made it feel like a more intimate experience as you make your way through the canyon. The guides are skilled at spacing out the groups so that with the various turns, we had moments where we were the only folks in a specific cavern.

Our guide, Dawnisia, was great! She provided tips on the optimal settings for each phone to capture the various colors and lighting in the canyon and pointed out the best photo angles (and famous shots) throughout the tour. She went out of her way to take photos of each member/couple in her group (helping us avoid the awkward and often disappointing selfie angles). She also gave updates on our progress through the canyon, which helped us gauge how many photos to take given our phone battery life.

The lower canyon tour includes climbing up/down ladders and through parts of the canyon that are only a couple of feet wide, so I'd recommend not bringing anything other than your camera or phone to keep your hands free. Highly recommend the Dixie Ellis' Tour - try to get in Dawnisia's tour, if possible.

Bill (a woman) expertly guided us as we climbed down some steep but very manageable stairs into the wonder of Lower Antelope Canyon on the Navajo Nation. From the first moment, I was awestruck by the majesty of nature. Bill helped us take beautiful pictures by setting the filters on our phones and guiding us to the perfect spots to take our photos. I selected the 8:15 am spot and I was only one of three people on the tour. She said most people avoid first thing in the morning so that is my biggest tip. Pick the first or second slot so you are almost guaranteed a small group, you will be alone in the canyon, and your guide will have more time to focus on you. Also I thought this was a better tour than Upper Antelope Canyon. I did both in the same day.

We chose Dixie Ellis as it was the highest rated and we were very happy with our decision. It seemed like a lot of people were at our time slot but we were divided into smaller groups- one guide for 10 people which made it personal. Our guide was knowledgeable and took a bunch of our pictures and knew the best spots and angles to take the most amazing pictures. Our tour started and ended right on time (60 min total). We would highly recommend Dixie Ellis for anyone visiting Antelope Canyon!

My friends and I did the lower antelope tour (that I booked directly through Dixie Ellis website). I've visited lower antelope canyon exactly 2 years ago with my boyfriend but this was the first time the other 5 girls came. My previous experience was with Ken's which I didnt fully enjoy it at that time because the tours/area was so crowded. We didn't get to enjoy it and felt rushed through half of the tour. This time, I felt like our group was the one there and was able tho really enjoy the different aspects of the canyon. Oliver, our guide was super friendly, gave us a lot of info, and happily took our photos (and got sort creative too). Oliver told us that the tours have reduced their group sizes. That makes a huge difference. Dixie Ellis has a lot of port-o-potties and even had a Navajo hoop dance. Dixie Ellis is a bit cheaper than Ken's so that is how I chose them this time. You can't go wrong with visiting Antelope Canyon. And with Dixie Ellis, I highly recommend Oliver.
The toughest part is the stairs on the beginning to get down to the bottom of the canyon. One section is super steep.... almost like going down a ladder. I recommend it to everyone who has a chance to come to Page and is physically able to get down steep set of stairs. Everything else is fairly level. The canyon is amazing - the sandstone and its layers, different crevices, color, the beauty overall... its amazing. My friend alone took 1000+ photos.

We reserved the 3:45p tour, and it turned out to be a great time. The day was warm, but the canyon was much cooler, and the colors in the canyon were amazing at that time of day. Our tour guide, Doreen, was very knowledgeable about the history of the canyon and was a WHIZ with a camera. She told us how and where to take great photos - even with a phone. Some of the panoramic photographs she took of my family will be shortly hanging on my wall. Because of Covid, you must wear a mask (I recommend their see through ones), but the groups sizes are limited to 10, which is awesome. I highly recommend this tour!

Our trip to Lower Antelope Canyon was one of the highlights of our Christmas this year. We knew from the start, that a guide would make or break the experience you have in the canyon, and we were praying that we would meet a good one..and we did. Our guide was Kerry, and he made the tour so fun and relaxed for us.

Kerry was very knowledgable in introducing us to the canyon. He also helped immortalise our experience for us by taking amazing pictures of us in the canyon. Not only did he repeatedly volunteer to take pictures for us, he also taught us tips and tricks of taking great pictures within the canyon.

With these tours, we also understand that there’s the need to keep moving so that we do not hold up the next group. Despite that, we did not feel like we were being rushed through the canyon. Kudos to Kerry for making sure that we kept going, without being too pushy!

We definitely enjoyed our tour with Dixie Ellis' Lower Antelope Canyon tours and Kerry. Would recommend them for a great time at Lower Antelope Canyon!

Like a lot of people who come to Page to see the Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon we also drove a long way out of our way. We road tripped up from Vegas just to see the sights that our daughter had been showing us. Four hours later, the carload was not as excited. By the end we were more that happy about our decision. From the native Navaho dance at the beginning to the knowledgable and friendly tour guide, RJ (Robert James Bluelake) we had a blast! He also took some amazing photos for us along the way! Must see for sure!

This is one of the most beautiful, unique spots on the planet. Our Navajo guide, Ian Black Horse Johnson, enhanced our breathtaking tour with his enthusiasm, knowledge, care for our safety, and photography skills. With our cel cameras he took our pictures at his favorite viewpoints and of the viewpoints themselves at the very best angles. Our group now possesses personal and scenic photos worthy of framing. We learned many things, among them that the gorgeous canyon wasn’t a sacred place for the Navajo, rather a hideout from the US Army in the 1800s. Ian told us about the wildlife, the canyon’s upkeep, and more about the Navajo language and culture. My main thought upon climbing out of the canyon was that it was worth the price, and that everyone on earth should experience it.

Loved our visit to the Lower Canyon. We had a nice guide, but was so hard to hear him through his mask. There were 6 of us and often I felt like the only people that really interacted with him were the two people in front. He could have done a better job of realizing that the mask made it very hard to hear him. I know he has to kind of keep us on pace to get us through in the time allotted, but I wish he had made more of an effort to turn to all of us and speak. He took nice pictures of all of us and was helpful with that. I wish the guides could go without the mask so we could hear better. It seems like they could do that as our wearing masks could still protect the guide. If you can wait to take the tour until the masks are gone I would do that. The pictures had to be taken in masks too. Not sure why for a minute we could not pull down our masks. During this pandemic it is the only time we have pictures with our masks on. I am not going to rate the experience less than excellent as I think during this pandemic it was the best that they felt they could do. I will only see this place once in my lifetime and certainly wish it could have been without masks.

We toured Lower Antelope Canyon with Tilford. He was superb- told us how to adjust our phone settings for the lighting, pointed out great photo places, took individual and family pictures. He did a great job explaining how the canyon was cut and what we were looking at. He joked with our kids. We were in a group of ten, started out in between two other groups but once in the canyon were usually there alone. We made steady progress through the canyon but didn’t feel rushed
