Lees Ferry is in Glen Canyon National Recreation, an amazing place with so much to do! There is a fee to enter the area, but if you have America the Beautiful, you can use that and enter for free.
This is such a picturesque area!
We walked the Historic Navajo Bridge, enjoyed the views of the Vermillion Cliffs, hiked the short River Trail (2.0m RT) along the Colorado River, stopped at the Balanced Rock Garden, and hiked part of the Cathedral Wash Trail. It had rained the day before, so there were pools of water in the wash that made it particularly difficult to traverse, and, having started this trail late in the day, we were unable to finish it, as we would have been in the canyon in the dark, and we didn't want that. I'd love to get to do the Cathedral Wash trail in its entirety in the future.

Highway 89A runs south-east from Kanab around the spectacular Vermillion Cliffs before rejoining the main 89. Lees Ferry is a short drive off the 89A, and lovely spot where you can get right down to the Colorado river. There is access for canoes etc to the water there, and it's not far along the river to the famous Horseshoe Bend. You do have to pay the Glen Canyon park fee, but this is valid for 7 days so will then do for your visit to Page and Lake Powell...

Lee's Ferry is the fee entry area by the Vermilion Cliffs near the Navajo Bridge. It is one of the points of river contact for river tour outfitters, since you can drive to the river's edge here. There are also camping, historical sites, trails to hike and , of course, the river to see and use. Note there's an entry fee, usually self-serve. If you have a pass, display it on your windshield.

Lees Ferry (about an hour from Page) is the only place within Glen Canyon were you can drive to the Colorado River. The old buildings site speaks to the past when different groups of people tried to find a way across the River. Now it is a spot for fishing, raft trips and hiking. There is a fee to enter the area. We hiked the 1 mile River Trail. Very peaceful and quiet.

We went to Lees ferry at the recommendation of our Airbnb host. He told us that it was one of his favorite places in the area so we decided to go. It is totally worth it for the admission price. We did not have long at this location so we stayed for about an hour and a half. During that time we walked through some of the Boulder areas and we played at the waters edge. The water here was very very cold. Also, the drive to Lees ferry was one of my favorite scenic drives. I would go back to this area and spend more time if we go back to AZ again.

We drove in from Page (42 miles) and enjoyed the Umbrella Rocks, walking the beach at the Colorado River, seeing the historic buildings on the River Trail, and seeing Lonely Dell Ranch. We brought our picnic lunch and had to eat in the car as a storm blew in - it was amazing to watch! Thankfully it was brief. Really fun few hours!

The weather was perfect at Lee’s Ferry. A lot more activity then when I visited when it was more primitive. The first overnight stay was on New Years Eve many years ago sleeping in a pup tent. It was freezing, but the trophy trout fishing fantastic. Try to stop by and stay at least a few hours to enjoy the river entry point. There is lodging close by also.

Amazing - this was my husband's favorite stop. The drive down through the canyon is a site unto itself but then to come upon the river at Lees Ferry is just incredible. Be sure to stop at the Navajo Village Heritage Center to learn the incredible history about Mr. Lee.

It was a last minute decision to come to Lee's Ferry but I'm happy we did. Found an awesome trail to hike around for a few miles. Saw the out of this world looking balance rocks. Then watched the sunset down by the Colorado River.
It was Valentines day and my birthday. Couldn't have asked for more.

Lees Ferry is about a stunning 45 minute drive from Page, AZ. As you get close to Lees Ferry on the Colorado River there are stunning rocks balanced on other rocks and red canyons. There is a beach called Paria Beach and the Navaho Bridge is a bridge built in 1927 that crosses the river before you arrive. Lots to see.

I'm not sure what the fees were. We have a Senior's National Park Pass so we didn't have to pay. There was no attendant when we went thru, but our pass was listed as acceptable. I think I think I remember seeing an admission price of $20-25, but I can't be sure.

Does anyone know how long the River Trail from Lee's Ferry Marina is? I started walking out, and the trail kept going. I eventually turned around, cause I wasn't sure how far the trail went (and I forget my water in the car). I am not talking about Spencer Trail that goes up, but the one that goes along the river away from the Marina.

Hi, we are planning on having a fashion shoot around AZ, do you think this is allowed in Lees Ferry?

I do not know what regulations might apply to your proposed photo shoot. I suggest you contact the National Park Service for an accurate answer.

I am planning a trip to Lees Ferry I plan in staying at a campground at Wahweap RV. Any good water taxi vendors to use to take myself and paddleboards upriver?

800 922 8022..... The only company allowed to back-haul FROM Lee's Ferry to half a mile below the Glen Canyon Dam .... We did it 2 years ago and it was the trip of a lifetime... Amazing class one all the way down with breath taking scenery. Paddle boarding is fine.
Below Lees Ferry is allowed by permit only.... its a 5 day trip with a licensed rafting company.. The permits are a raffle and on average take 10 years to get.
