Overall, it was a good experience with mesmerizing views of the canyon, fun bumpy ride and a great tour guide who takes some really good pictures. Stunning canyon.
However, having more time inside of the canyon would have been appreciated. We pay significant amount of money to spend only 45 min inside of the canyon while being rushed by another group behind to take pictures. It felt like we couldn't actually relax and enjoy it, while making some memories.

The tour is organized and precise down to the smallest details: great efficiency. Prices are actually very high and we found the visit time to be limited in terms of time: the different groups are all queuing one behind the other (if I wanted to be particularly nice I would say "all in single file") so it is not possible to linger then a lot in the best points because you always have someone behind you who is pressing.
But what else can we say? Antelope Canyon is magnificent! Nothing to say about its beauty and charm. And the guide was truly exceptional!
Advice:
- Inside the canyon the temperature is decent, but outside in summer it is terrible: equip yourself accordingly
- Remember that you are in the desert anyway, so it is a habitat for snakes, scorpions and spiders of all kinds
- If your guide offers to take a photo of you, accept immediately and above all give him permission to change the settings of your cell phone: they know exactly how to take a great photograph with that type of light
- During the tour try to stay close to the guide, in front of everyone else, you will take better photos
- During the journey in the pick-up from Page to the entrance of the canyon I advise you to sit as close as possible to the driving cab: the further back you are, the more sand and dust in your eyes you get

I wasn't sure what to expect after reserving this tour and receiving the pages of disclaimers that left a negative connotation about being dropped from the tour with no refund. I'm sure the operators have heard and seen it all, but the documentation could be a little more positive. The important thing to remember is to be on time (AZ Time vs UT time), have good mobility, bring some water and have fun.
Your group will be 14 people plus one guide and you will loaded into the back of a large pickup truck sitting 7 people per side sideways for about a 20 minute ride on bumpy washes. While the truck is covered, one side will be in the sun and the closer to the front, the less air circulation. If you get car sick, you won't like staring sideways while moving.
Tour groups are sequenced through the slot canyon, so you often have to wait for the group in front of you to clear a chamber so that you can get in to see it an take pictures. The canyon is beautiful and obviously changes with the light throughout the day. Our guide was outstanding working with everyone on camera/cell phone settings to get the best pictures. He had families and couples posed in key areas and took great pictures while allowing plenty of time for questions.
The video of the hike out is excellent for understanding what to expect. My wife who had hip replacement surgery last year had no issues navigating the hike in a timely manner.
Great tour and worth the time and money.

The Antelope Canyon is truly a unique and very photogenic canyon. I was very pleased with the fact that our tourguide took great looking pictures of us in the canyon, that we otherwise would have been unable to take. She also explained a lot about the story of the canyon.
We found it annoying that it is getting overcrowded in the canyon. There is a group in front of you and a group rigth behind you. And because all tourguides do a lot of talking, there is a constant noise-level.
And I must say that I have the feeling the price of the tour is a 'rip-off'. Way too much for a tour this short, with so many people. It is more than double the price of an annual pass for all national parks in the US... (based on 2 pax).

I was excited to take this tour during my stop in Page. I booked online and they emailed me the electronic consent form ahead of time, which made check-in a breeze. You have no choice what type of vehicle you end up riding on. Unlike the other open air trucks that other reviewers have mentioned, our guide had an enclosed van. Since I was solo, I was able to ride up front with him and he was personable. At the canyon, he asked the group of 14 to stay together and he would point out good spots and take photos of them. Frankly, this is all it became about. Move to a spot, then take a photo with every single person's phone, then move again. With other groups in the canyon, it was hard to hear any info/history that the guide was trying to talk about. Of course, someone in the group made the tour her personal "photo-shoot" posing with a wide brim hat at every spot holding people up. The guide was clearly annoyed but really showed patience for her nonsense. Outside the canyon, there are steps up to a covered inclining walkway that you ascend to get back to the top of the canyon. Then a quarter mile walk takes you to a large set of steps you descend to get back to the vehicles. If you have mobility issues with steps or inclines, this isn't for you. Of course, the "photo-shoot" girl and her companions lagged behind causing our driver to have to wait even when the website adamantly states that you can't hold up the tour. If the group had been smaller, this would've been nicer. But, it's basically about herding as many people as possible through, which is unfortunate. Maybe it would be less busy during the winter time, who knows.

I’ve just returned from the Upper Canyon Tour with this business and I highly, highly suggest you do not book with them. We had a terrible time. Our tour guide was Ricky, if that was his real name because he never introduced himself and just herded us and told the group to hurry up when we asked his name, made this tour miserable. We had 2 that missed the tour so we were the middle group. Ricky was furious at this and just raced the other vans through sand terrains to get to the entrance. Once arrived, he mentioned he’s not about the photography and will not take pictures for anyone or show anyone about photos. His only tour comments of the canyon were “you see those holes? They’re bullets holes” “sand gets this high” “water gets this high”… and literally nothing else. We ended up trying to look behind us to another tour guide group and listened in but they had their own group and seems like they were competing with each other which made it more awkward. The tour still ended early even though we were a little late. If you have &15-$20 more, I would suggest you look into other groups who had actual tour vehicles and better tour guides. Will never go on any tours with this group ever again!

The visit to the antelope canyon was managed roughly and hastily; the guide asked where we were coming from just to have a calculation of the number of couples within the group, from that moment the photos inside the canyon were managed by the guide himself and taken exclusively in pairs (we repeatedly asked for a single photo which was not granted to us, which is why we were reprimanded several times). Furthermore, the times were excessively strict: we couldn't stay a moment longer since there was another tour in the queue ready to take our place. The impression was of being in a sort of assembly line between a tour before and a tour after, certainly the price does not justify the quality of the service received.

Pay the money, get up early if necessary, go out of your way to do this. It is on world-wide bucket lists and will not disappoint. I wondered how they would manage so many loads of people arriving about the same time, but the companies have worked it out; there are enough twists and turns inside that you feel like it's just your group of 15 or so. Our guide was Rosie and she was just wonderful. Spoke in Navajo, told grandmother stories, was the real deal. Helped us all with pictures, kept us together and moving. The company sends multiple "warnings" that you must be able to walk, climb, everyone in your group. The canyon floor inside is level, but because it's longer an out and back, you go out the back side and must climb up some ground, but it's also on grated steps up and then down, with rails and so it's no big deal. You can take your time if needed. You will never regret doing this and the cost is significantly less than other companies I checked. Do it! The light inside will change over the course of the day as well as seasonally. :-)

The canyons are really beautiful and worth a visit. However, we find the agency's prices too high in relation to the duration of the visit.
The staff is very nice, the bans stated on the booking website are implemented hard.

Would recommend this to anyone visiting Page. The tour started with an open-air bumpy truck ride to the canyon. The walking tour through the canyon was fairly short. The walk back to the truck after was partly shaded and not long. iPhone camera pictures will come out much better than DSLR. There are a lot of shadows and you would need a tripod with long exposure to get a good photo. There were a decent amount of people on the tour but the guide stopped periodically to take pictures of each group. The noon tour has the best opportunity to see the light beams however we only saw about two which was less than expected.

My husband has a cane to walk which is the best upper or lower for him?

We only have time for either upper or lower canyon tour, which would you recommend and why?
Written July 10, 2023
Upper for sure! Wonderful experience overall that included an "adventurous" drive. It is also easier of the experiences I believe!

Can anyone tell me the best time of day to visit for the best view of Upper Canyon? I have a trip scheduled for the last week of February. Thank you!

We went on the last tour of the day and it was spectacular! The highlight of our trip to Arizona!! It was nice to be on the last tour because we did not feel rushed. Several friends have told me that the photos I got there could be published. Amazing!!!

Hi Roger: I am so interested to visit Antelope Canyon, now the date we will arrive will be Monday 22/June - 2020.
We will be driving to Page from Monument Valley, and having breakfast at Page, all things well we should arrive at Page at around 08:00 am, stopping for breakfast in Page.
I would think to be safe a tour starting at 10:00 am on Monday 22/June - 2020, for 2 male adults, aged 68 & 70, but very fit and active for their age.
We would like to do Upper & Lower Canyons, with opportunities, to take photos, from hand held cameras "Not" tripods.
Could you please let me know of availability and recommendations.

We enjoyed the drive from Monument Valley to Page and the tour of Upper Antelope Canyon is not at all strenuous. I would recommend booking well in advance at that time of the year as it books out very quickly and that is the only downfall of Antelope Canyon - so many tourists stopping constantly for photos rather than taking in the magnificence of the canyon. Still worth it though. We didn't do Lower Antelope Canyon. Apparently it is a lot more challenging with ladders to climb which my knees would not have coped with.

Does the tour go to the Upper Antelope canyon? How long is the tour? What is the cost? How do we reserve? Where do we go to meet the tour guide?
Written February 26, 2019
You can go to Upper Antelope Canyon. Choose an early tour. You won’t get the light beams you read about but the crowds are ridiculous on later tours. Make reservations on the website. The instructions for the tour are given to you and are easy to follow.

We took a 90 minute tour including travel to the canyon. We were only in the canyon for 50 minutes. Plenty of time and it wasn’t crowded at 8 am time slot. Book early because they were sold out 2 days before.
