My wife and I were on day eight of a 14 day trip through the Inside Passage. We'd flown to Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, then taken the ferry to Gustavus. The day of our tour was cool and rainy which left us both saying we wouldn't mind if the tour was cancelled. Our guide, Brittney, picked us up on time at our lodge and drove us inside the park where we'd gear up and depart from. She is really friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to; traits that helped us relax and enjoy the next several hours. Lucky for us, we were the only people going out that day. The two person kayak we used was very steady and seemed like you couldn't tip over if you tried. Right away you're blown away by the beauty of the area. Between the water, mountains, and the wildlife there is always something to being looking at and learning about. We then had a delicious lunch on shore and started our return. As we neared the departure point we didn't want the trip to end. Looking back, we enjoyed this much more than the full day boat tour we took the day before. It was fun, but this was amazing. What a great day! Thank your Brittney and Glacier Bay Sea Kayaks!!

We're so glad you enjoyed your day out on the water with Brittney and that you didn't let a little rain discourage you from going! Our rainforest environment shows off its best colors on those days. Viewing wildlife and our grand scenery does offer a unique and more intimate perspective from a kayak. Thank you for sharing your kind words and we hope to see you back here another time.

I wish I could remember the young husband and wife's names who led the tour I was on, because they were delightful. The views were incredible, and the seals and birds were fantastic. But besides the great friendliness of the guides and the tasty lunch - the little short trek into the woods to look for berries was something I'll never forget! We ate almost 6 different kinds of leaves and berries including a leaf that tasted like an onion-garlic, and another one that tasted like watermelon! It was really neat!! Super fun - super memorable. Thank you!

Thank you for writing a review. Brittney & David, are the names of your husband and wife duo guides, both are excellent guides and naturalists. They live true to their beliefs, sustaining from the riches of this region year round, from casting the last of the salmon runs, collecting berries to searching out the secret mushroom patches. Diligently learning every possible use, they will can, pickle and preserve for winter. Brittney will make soaps to soaks, balms to bath salts and a plethora of herbal remedies. I am sure that every step into the woods with these two guides would be a delightful grazing learning experience to compliment a region still quiet enough to hear your paddle stroke the water and a porpoise take a breath. I am glad your trip was ‘super memorable’ and we look forward to your return.

Karla from Glacier Bay Kayaks was so instrumental in helping my husband and I figure out the trip that would work best for us and making the appropriate recommendations and reservations. On the night before our kayaking trip, Leah gave us a superb orientation, explaining exactly how our kayak and supplies would be loaded on the boat, explained the tides, and showing us on a map where we would be dropped off, and answering a billion questions we had. She also loaned us some dry bags, a great map, and bear spray. We couldn’t have been treated any better. We were picked up 3 days later and had the most amazing time. How can you not, when you’re surrounded by whales all the time and was so well prepared!

Thank you for writing a review. I am glad to hear that you had an amazing time and felt well prepared. It is reassuring to us when kayakers ask ‘a billion’ questions, it means that you are trying to figure out all the details ahead of time and want to know how to prepare, we are happy to spend the time answering all of your questions. It sounds like you had a good whale experience, good for you, if you have any photos of flukes please let us know and we shall share them with the whale biologists to assist them with research. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. All the best.

Wow, what an amazing time up in Glacier Bay! My wife and I just returned home from Alaska, and we can't wait to go back. It's difficult to express just how beautiful it is up in the bay. It is humbling to be surrounded by all the mountains, glaciers and waterfalls from a kayak. The people at GBSK made planning our trip really easy, and their gear is top notch. They took care of booking our ferry drop off / pick up and had high quality rain gear and boots. The kayak and paddles were in excellent condition too! Once we arrived at the park, we sat down with Leah to discuss our camping plans and route in the West Arm She answered all our questions and calmed some of our nerves about a trip of this type. She went over the map with us and gave us suggestions about camping sites, difficult passages in the bay, and where we might encounter bears! We were very well prepared and the trip went off without a hitch! Can't recommend highly enough - the trip of our lives!!

Doing a multi day kayak trip in glacier bay has been a bucket list for me for years now. Glacier Bay Sea Kayaks literally made it a success. I felt informed and assisted to plan my trip from the moment I checked to see availability to the moments before we headed out to the backcountry. We didn’t realize there was so little water available and GBSK helped us with getting more water storage for our trip. Very kind knowledgeable and helpful can company, most especially Leah! Highly recommended going with them for your trip.

Thank you for writing a review. I am so happy that your kayak trip to Glacier Bay was a success. We know that planning a trip like this may be overwhelming for many people and we will take the time to pass on our knowledge and assist you from trip planning to trip details. Water has been unusually low this season and who knows what next season will bring, this is a good reminder for anyone planning to kayak here to bring extra water carrying containers. I recommend the style that packs down or collapses when empty. We look forward to seeing you again. All the best.
