About
Montana is legendary for its fly fishing. Experience it for yourself in the waters that surround Glacier National Park. We offer daily and multi-day guided trips on the beautiful North and Middle Forks of the Flathead River, and multi-day trips into the Great Bear Wilderness to fish the acclaimed Upper Middle Fork. This is prime habitat for eager Westslope cutthroat trout and rainbow trout that you catch and release. Bring your own gear or let us supply everything you need. A Montana fishing license is required for all fishing trips with the exception of private pond fishing.

Booked a full-day guided fly-fishing trip through their website, which was very easy to do. When I arrived, they quickly connected me with my guide, Kyler, who was absolutely wonderful. I started fly fishing about 15 years ago, but haven't done much recently due to our growing family. Kyler was a great guide, suggesting where to place the fly as well as techniques for how to get it to the right spot. He is a fantastic teacher and helped me a have a wonderful day on the water. The boat was in great shape and Kyler had two fly rods available for me to use, in addition to my own.
Nothing negative to say about the trip. I wholeheartedly recommend Glacier Anglers in general and Kyler specifically!

This was the my personal best fly fishing experience in terms of numbers of fish. My guide Cash put me on fish a couple hundred yards downstream from where we put in on the North Fork Flathhead River. The gin clear water was at its summer low, so we restricted our number of hours fished. Despite low water the fish were very active. I caught twenty-three fish for the day and had a few more missed strikes. My guide was very knowledgeable about what water held fish and what to areas to just float over. Gracier Raft provided all the equipment and my guide Cash rigged my rod with the correct flies to match the fishing conditions. This was my second trip with Glacier Raft and likely won't be the last.

We are so excited that your best day out on the river was with Glacier Anglers & Outfitters and that Cash took good care of you! The North Fork is a gorgeous stretch of river with lots of big fish, and we are happy that you got to experience it. We certainly would love the opportunity to take you out on the river again soon, with a goal of making a new personal best record!

Took my son on an overnight fly fishing trip with Glacier Anglers. Was not sure what to expect. We both are experienced fly fishermen and was not sure how this trip would be since a lot of the reviews are for 1/2 days and full days trying out fly fishing. The trip turned out to be everything I was looking for on an out west fly fishing trip. Our guide Killian was fantastic. Great personality and worked hard to find us fish. We caught over 100 fish in two days and around 20 of them were over 15 inches. The planning and gear for the trip were great. Our gear guide/cook Trevor did not disappoint on our campsite and meals. I would highly recommend doing a trip with Glacier Anglers no matter the skill level. The overall experience is exactly what I was looking for!

What a great experience- I'm so glad you tried it! I totally understand about not really knowing what to expect. Then, having a great time and feeling so glad you did it. And what a great fishing haul! Wow! Thanks for choosing us- we do hope you come back :)

We purchased a full day fly fishing event for 2 with Glacier Anglers and Outfitters. They have an incredible shop and all employees in the shop, as well as on the phone, were knowledgeable and eager to help. The only complaint we have is with our fishing guide, Brandon. Although he seemed knowledgeable about fly fishing and tied flies, etc. he had little to say and we felt as if we were a bother. We were certainly NOT looking for 7 hours of conversation, but also did not want to feel as if we were unwelcome. He answered questions when asked and spoke when we spoke to him, but little more. Anyone paying $700+ for a full day fly fishing event expects to, at the very least, feel welcome and appreciated.

Fishing guide Kyler gave my wife Fly rod Casting 101 on the beach and then put us both over fish during our half day fly fishing float. Challenging conditions (wind and rain), but Kyler positioned us to get the tap’s and my wife’s first fish ever. Kyler’s mantra: “foam is home” for fish locations.

Had two great guided fishing trips. First day we fished the North fork of the Flathead river and the second day we were able to fish the middle fork.
Glacier Anglers paired me with same guide for both days so the experience became like fishing with a good friend... a good friend who is an expert rafting guide and knows there is a huge fish waiting for you right along that eddy line. Cast right there... nailed it! Fun.

Took a full day fly trip with Elija on the flat head yesterday. It was my first fly trip and I was a true beginner. He was awesome, got us on 4 species of fish, had great knowledge of the river and fly fishing in general. The guides make these trips and he did just that. Ask for him when you book you will be in for a great day!!

It’s wonderful to hear about your first fly fishing trip and the fantastic day you had on the Flathead with Elijah! Bringing in four different species on your very first outing is quite an achievement and a testament to both your enthusiasm and Elijah’s guiding skills. Our guides, indeed, are the heart of these experiences, and Elijah embodies the knowledge, passion, and patience we value in our team. His expertise not only in fly fishing but also in understanding the river’s ecosystem makes for an enriching and successful day out on the water.
We're so pleased that Elijah was able to make your introduction to fly fishing so memorable and rewarding. Our goal is always to ensure that every angler, regardless of their experience level, leaves with a deeper appreciation for the sport and some great stories to share.
Thank you for your kind words and for recommending Elijah. We’ll be sure to pass along your praises!

We had a great experience with fly fishing. Good for beginers and kids > 8. Only downside is they dont have a lesson if you would like to do fly fishing as a individual person. you must to be in a group to take advantage of the package which is bit pricey.

We're happy to hear you had a great time with us.
One thing many of our guests consider if they are looking for a 1 on 1 experience is our guided 1/2 day fishing trip. Though this is a similar price to the group lesson you experienced, it takes place on the river with one of our experienced guides who are happy to share any advice and provide instruction throughout the trip.

I enjoyed my ride down the River but I really hoped to catch some fish. We took a half day fly fishing trip on Friday 9/17 with Brandon. The area was beautiful and the weather was perfect. Our guide Brandon was a nice guy but he didn’t give much instruction besides his introductory 5 minute lesson. My son caught a few little trout. I didn’t even have a bite. For the amount I paid, I was disappointed. Considering the price of the tour plus tip and fishing license this a very poor value. I would not do it again.

Thank you for fishing with us and your feedback. We are disappointed that you didn't feel the value of your trip was worth it. We will be using your insight to improve our program, and we hope you reconsider coming back someday in the future.

Being whitewater guides and new fly fishermen from CA, and having a limited amount of time, we wanted to pack as much into a day in Glacier as possible, hoping to return home with an amazing experience of MT rivers and fish. Glacier Anglers provided that! We we so blessed to have Lauren as our guide. She was a highly skilled river runner, and exceptional fish finder. If she told us to get our fly to land somewhere, you were going to catch a fish. In a full-day float, we lost track of how many fish we caught within the first hour. The dry fly experience was a huge plus. If you want to create a lifetime memory, Glacier Anglers and Lauren will make it a great one!

Are there hiking or float fly fishing trips near the Many Glacier hotel?
Written September 27, 2018
I don’t believe so as it’s the other side of the park

Are there any trips that include cooking and eating the fish you catch?
Written April 6, 2018
There are trips that there is cooking involved. They host multi night fishing trips that are terrific. In my experience the fishing there is strictly catch and release.
