For anyone interested in the Anasazi people, in particular Mimbres pottery, this is a must stop. A bit hard to find but persevere!

We went to museum based on other reviews and the Mimbres Pottery. While that was great, just as described, we thoroughly enjoyed the upper floor dedicated to the school history. It was extremely interesting and also gave insight to New Mexico history. Just happened to be there on the day new students were arriving for fall classes and it was... More

Extensive collection of Mimbres pottery primarily from the NAN ranch dig in the 1960's and 70's. Lovely quiet little museum.

The Western New Mexico University Museum houses perhaps the best single collection of Mimbres pottery on view anywhere. It's a must for any serious student of archaeology, as well as visitors with an interest in fine art and ceramics. There's quite a bit of text to wade through in the displays, but the work speaks eloquently for itself across nearly... More

You'd think history of this area began and ended with Billy the Kid based on the city's culture. Sorry there are no... More

This delightful museum has a wonderful collection of Mimbres pottery. Admission is free but donations are welcomed. This is a "must see" attraction for anyone visiting Silver City. Dedicate an hour to carefully view their gorgeous examples of ancient pottery.

The preliterate Mimbres people of this area painted beautiful pots with an enticing sense of humor. This a gigantic collection to see in a compact museum used by anthropologists and archaeologists worldwide.

The docent was very courteous and helpful in knowing where everything was. In addition to a large Membres pottery collection they have an interesting college history display upstairs
