Our group of four had a marvelous time learning the good stuff from Josh about Brooklyn and NY in general. The pace was perfect, and we felt totally safe as we were guided from one point of interest to the next.

This was by far the best guide I have ever had. I think that what makes Josh excellent at what he does is that he used to be a history teacher, he is a local who has lived in practically all the boroughs, and he has a deep appreciation of food... I am a French teacher so I can relate :) Josh is so knowledgeable and he makes history very interesting because of all the anecdotes he shares with us: you really find out about "la petite histoire" behind the official story. What I also like about Josh is that he is patient and very personable. I have seen him make a point throughout the tour to check on everyone in the group, asking how everything is going, striking interesting conversations, drawing appropriate parallels based on everybody's background and country of origin. He makes folks feel good and comfortable. Josh is generous with his time and his knowledge. He is a wealth of information: not only have I found out about the best places to eat all kind of different foods in New York, but also how to score cheap tickets to a Broadway show! It is obvious that Josh loves what he does and that he has a lot of fun doing it, and, by the same token, so did we. I will definitely be back for more! Merci beaucoup, Josh! This is not Adieu but Au Revoir, Mario

Five women from North Carolina have toured with For Your Brain and Belly New York Walking Tours twice. Our guide was Josh. We were able to see New York as we have never seen it! I have been to New York many times and did not even know these things existed. We did a food/ history tour of Greenwich Village and Williamsburg-Bushwick. Particularly recommend the Williamsburg tour. Taking 12 friends in November. Josh will lead our food tour again. Excellent!!!!!

I bought my girlfriend tickets for the Chinatown, Little Italy, and Lower East tour for Christmas. She’s something a foodie and I’m a history teacher, so I thought we would both get something out of it. We ended up being blown away by both the food and Josh’s (the guide/owner) encyclopedic knowledge of the area. The history of the neighborhoods, the history of specific establishments, the history of the particular cuisine, and the larger history of New York City were all expertly and dramatically woven together. The history aside, if you’re interested in an exotic, cultured, and delicious afternoon, look no further! My highest recommendation!

We had a great tour with Josh. Tasted the many flavors of Brooklyn through sight and taste along with getting an understanding of its history and evolution.
