A great taste of New York culture & social history

The tours run weekend lunchtimes, and take about 2 hours. Group sizes vary, ours was 8, sometimes it's as many as 30. You basically walk around 2 or blocks, which are all part of the "Bushwick Collective", and feature most of the top names in the world of street art (no Banksy...yet...). You will end up taking a ton of... More

One of the best street art walks I ever did. Freedom our guide was very knowledgeable about the artists, their technique and their history. I learnt more in these 2 hours than reading any book. A definitely must do if you appreciate murals.

There's a reason that Time Out NY, The Brooklyn Paper, etc. all recommend the "Street Art Walk" tours -- and that's due to the deep knowledge of its tour guides. Our phenomenal guide, Freedom didn't just provide a fascinating tour of some of Bushwick's most colorful and interesting street art, but he also gave us an insider's brief history lesson... More

Excellent tour of Bushwick, which has a large number of street murals from local and international artists as well as stickers, paste ups and graffiti. Freedom, our guide, is a nice guy - knowledgable and approachable, adding plenty of historical context; he easily held our interest for the full 2 hours on a chilly December morning. The tour starts a... More

Chelsea was a welcoming, personable and informative guide during this two hour tour of a funky, creative and artistically unique area of the city that neither my wife nor I (as lifelong New Yorkers) hadn't visited in decades. Glad we did! Took some really wonderful pictures along the way, so bring your camera. There were both seniors as well as... More

The Street Art Walk with our guide, Freedom, was great--interesting, enlightening, and just plain entertaining. We had done a tour in Barcelona and expected some of the same, but the Street Art in Bushwick is awe inspiring because of the quality, range, and scale of the work. Even though we live in the NY area, doing brunch at Cafe Ghia... More

Went with a group of 25 students aged 17 and our guide (Chelsea) managed to captivate them through sometimes technique (but no mumbo jumbo) but mostly showing the craft and creativity of each artist...some are actually hard to spot. Heard good things about other guides as well but Chelsea was so knowledgeable and so willing to share those stories which... More

Freedom's tour was fun and interesting, and I will not look at street art the same way again. We recently moved back to NY, and did this tour with my younger (teen aged) daughter. We're already planning to do the tour again with my older daughter. Loved seeing the artwork and learning about the artists and their histories. I will... More

Freedom gave us an outstanding tour of major street art work in Bushwick. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the neighbourhood, street art and the artists. he took us on a route that had work of interest every few feet and explained each piece. There are several interesting restaurants which if the one we sampled is any indication... More
