Best library ever.

I was amazed at the size and quality of this library. One of the best I have ever seen. The staff are extremely helpful and very child friendly. Ideal for families.

I love the entrance to this library; it gives the grandeur that a place of learning deserves. The plaza is clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Dogs are allowed up there, so beware if you don't like eating around animals. There are a few vending carts around (great fresh juice cart in front), and Prospect Park is directly across the street with... More

Even if you hate books and information - you need to see this! It is simply gorgeous. And make a day of it The Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and Brooklyn Zoo are all clustered here together right next to Prospect Park. Absolutely worth a half hour of your time on your way to the Museum or Botanic Gardens!

Worth visiting to see the outside and entryway. Check out the poster in the lobby which explains the many symbols on the doorway.

This was a delightful oasis for kids and adults alike! We as grandparents had the occasion to attend the yoga class and it was so joyful. Miss Elizabeth must be commended for the wonderful program and the library she is managing!

Visitors to Brooklyn may visit the nearby Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Museum, and Prospect Park. While you are there, don't forget to check out our beautiful central library, which is celebrating 75 years of service to readers this year. This landmarked building has beautiful lines, and the bronze decoration of its grand doorway was recently restored. The central library serves... More

Just a trip to see the exterior of this library is worth it. At the north end of Prospect Park and next to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Public Library is a beautiful structure with a curved front entrance. It's designed as if you left a book open, face down, and the spine of the book is the door--with... More

I can't lie..... we didn't read a single book here but merely went here for the little food window for their pies at the Four and Twenty Blackbirds Café. If you want to try a delicious slice of their Salted Caramel Apple, Salty Honey, Lemon Chess, or Black Bottom Oat avoid the lines at their main pie shop and travel... More

Last night we went into Brooklyn to attend a free performance of Randy Weston's African Rhythms Quartet. The quarter is made up of Dr. Weston on piano, Mr. Neil Clarke on percussion, Mr. T.K. Blue on sax and Mr. Alex Blake on bass. I don't have the words to express what a wonderful experience this was for me. Dr. Weston... More
