We stayed in Brooklyn and came here. It is old industrial Building that are currently being transformed into housing and shops. I enjoyed walking around and getting the feel for bygon times, when trains roamed the tracks and men worked in the factories. No you look at the devlopment and see that it is going to become a great Residential... More

After spending the earlier part of the afternoon in Manhattan, we drove across the bridge to grab a bite at Shake Shack in Dumbo. What we didn't expect was the most perfect angled views of Manhattan and the harbor. If we lived closer, this would be our getaway spot. Plenty of grassy areas to have a picnic, grab a book,... This hood still has the charm of old unpaved streets with big warehouses that merges with new developement in the same warehousy style. New waterfront with lots of greenery is pretty place to walk, with cute shops, coffee spots and Market with variety of vendors under the Manhattan Bridge over the weekends. You can get that famous shot of Manhattan... More

DUMBO is a great place to catch some amazing views of Manhattan. They have a nice pier for super photo ops or an amazing park with trails and open spaces. There is also an ice parlor on the pier and you can take a ferry over to the City if you wish. DUMBO also has some wonderful restaurants and stores.... More

If you decide to take a stroll from the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge across into Brooklyn and would like to end up in a nice area close to where you'll get off of the bridge, you might consider visiting DUMBO. Hint: if you are walking across the bridge from Manhattan, take the first "left exit" off of the... More

Take the subway over and spend a couple of hours taking in the fantastic view of the Manhattan skyline. There's a grassy area and also a playground if you have young kids.

After walking over Brooklyn Bridge we explored the area known as DUMBO and this is well worth doing and most interesting. An area that was bought by a property developer and redeveloped turning old Industrial buildings and warehouses into residential and commercial buildings thus rejuvenating the area. After a walk over the bridge you can grab a drink and a... More
