Best Xmas displays in the City

Nothing in the city can compare to Dyker heights at christmas time. Great effort is put in by the folks there. Just amazing displays for blocks

Stroll down these highly decorated streets, where Santa, his elves and reindeer (among other holiday friends), and you will be mesmerized by the lights, the music and the sights. Plan on parking you car a few blocks away and walking as the crowds are slow moving. This experience should be seen by everyone just once! OR better yet, every year!!!!

If you enjoy Christmas and elaborate Christmas decorations, you cannot miss the display that is put on in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. Over the top, so festive and so much fun! Beautiful display and an annual event for South Brooklyn natives. Love it

Dyker Heights - where I lived for 10 years(grew up in Bensonhurst): great food, family, cheap eats, decent living, a marvel at Christmas time Let these pics tell their own story and draw your own conclusion and re-tell the story through your own experience.

My husband jokes that the bigger the statue of the Virgin Mary outside the house, the bigger the owner's sons to atone for... I wonder if the same joke applies to Christmas decorations-lol!- Christmas rocks here! I don't envy the residents though, because the traffic snaking through the blocks is head imploding!I sound like the Grinch but wait till you... More

Its hard to buy a home here, but its lovely to look. This neighborhood has stayed a constant in an ever changing Brooklyn market. It offers beautiful homes, great stores and restaurants, and a small town feel in an ever growing big city.

There are many restaurants, especially on 3rd. There is also a park with great views of the Verrazano. If you go to 86th street it is a shopping mecca. I have restaurant reviews on my blog if you are interested google Lisa the Travelista.

Before we had large supermarket chairs New Yorkers would shop in small family owned businesses specializing in specific products. Get a taste of times past. Get a taste of Italy. Park your car and walk down 13th Avenue between 75th and 80th street. You will find family owned pork stores (Delicatessens), cheese stores and great Italian bakeries.

Winthin a few blocks of 84th street and fourteenth ave, there are a number of houses with elaborate Christmas displays. In Brooklyn, it is one of the best examples of large Christmas displays that are appropriate and attractive to children and adults alike. Well trafficed during the holiday season. What we like to do is go see the displays and... More
