I have been going here for 50 years. My parents took me for a ride on the Cyclone and Nathan's. Then as a teenager they let me go with my friends when they had "POP" pay one price for going on the rides all day,...More
I have a love/hate relationship with Coney Island. On one side it’s convenient by train and the amusement park is a great time, but the actual beach itself is overcrowded and honestly pretty trashy and not kid friendly. It works for me because in my...More
A long walk along the Boardwalk is worth a visit in good weather if you're already in NYC. I was there on a weekend before the height of the summer season, so the boardwalk & beach were not too crowded (yet).
this place is a true reflection of old and new brooklyn. They had done so much to improve the boardwalk and its attractions. If you want true local flavor it is worth the trip out on a sunny or no so sunny day.
I lived in Brooklyn for over 20 years, and Coney was always a great place to have some fun. Cyclone, Ferris Wheel, etc. Nathans for lunch, Ruby's for a drink. Nice restaurants, great boardwalk. You will love it!
Fantastic atmosphere about Coney, traditional boardwalk seaside resort with funfairs and hot dogs. Lovely long beach and feel good atmosphere. Nathans is a must visit for hotdog and the Cyclone is a must.

We were there in early April. Maybe I wore a light jacket. But like anyplace else you have to watch the weather and pick a good day. We were there in daylight. I am 77 (but pretty robust) and never for a second felt unsafe. There was obvious but not overwhelming police presence. It was a great day just watching people. Having hot dogs and a beer. Gelato later. The rides are amazing if you have a cast iron stomach. Just go there with intent to enjoy the spectacle and I think you will. Cheerio.

i recommend the cyclones parking lot also.
or if you want to risk it on the street parking but still have to pay per hour ,I would park by the orange and white roller coaster towards the end heading towards cyclones stadium.
