Coney Island won't be the fanciest stop on a trip to NYC but is still worth the trip for its place in NY history and the iconic wooden rollercoaster "the Cyclone". It still thrills at 75+ years. The beach is crowded but if you walk over to the ocean parkway /sea breeze area it can be pretty quiet and tranquil.

Went here by train on a cold winters day but was still very impressive by its size and the beautiful coastal views, Fantastic clean beaches and the iconic boardwalk. Loved it.

My mom and sister visited us from Florida and I took them to Coney Island so they can experience the changes that happened since the last time they were their. My sister hadn't been there since she was a teen and it was breathtaking to her. Coney Island is a landmark attraction that must be experienced by all who are... More

I grew up in Coney Island durIng the 70s. To return with my family last summer and see how clean fun and awesome it has become (especially since Hurricane Sandy) was fantastic. A def place for small and large kids. Great boardwalk, great seaside food (Nathan's is a must)

If a carnival and the Atlantic City Boardwalk conceived a child, it'd be Coney Island. Not a great beach, but for NYC beaches it is as good as it gets outside of Long Island I guess. Very crowded.

Went to Coney Island for a day trip with my wife and son. My son was anxious to go on the rides but quite frankly the crowd can be rough and with limited police force I felt concerned about our safety. Will not be going back until this is rectified.

The carnies are a bit creepy, but when are they not? There's some kind of old world charm about coney island, from the traditional corn-dogs to the shoddy rides. I'd probably not go back, but as a first time tourist destination, you must take a peak and waste a bit of money here.

Recently visited here. 3 days after we got engaged on our Christmas trip to NYC. This was our third visit to NYC so decided to try and get out of manhattan a bit more. A visit to Coney Island is easy enough via the subway and very affordable. About 2.75 dollars from central NYC, for a journey of just over... More
