PacMan, 90's tunes and a killer bar!! All in one stop!!
Nov 2019
My wife and I like to spend a couple days checking the town, trying the beers and spirits and of course sampling the foods everywhere we go for a rock show. We stopped at Barcade just because it looked really interesting. What a place!! Great people and drinks. Had some fantastic beers (great selection of craft beers) and played PacMan for the first time since I was 15. I didnt do so well. Bar manager was great to chat with about the town and gave us some awesome places to try during our Bang Bang trip.

Barcade was cool. They had all the 80s games which I grew up playing. The bar was a little gross but I’m glad we went. The bartender was super sweet and helpful!

So much fun!

I came here for my 22nd birthday and had a blast. There is a wide selection of games to play - gotta say Tetris and Mortal Kombat were my faves. There a lot of cool deals at the bar for shots and other drinks. I had a beer from a local brewery and it was hella good! I'd definitely return if I had the chance!

The ORIGINAL barcade

As these owners are expanding the source is here in Brooklyn. This is one of the greatest bar ideas ever conceived and it is also perfectly family friendly. The bar is a bar and the selection is good, but your not coming here just to drink, your coming here to play classic arcade games and drink. Tapper was my favorite when I went. So much fun!

Coolest place

Old arcade games, excellent beer and creative coctails. I recommend Brooklyne mule. On the wall there are best scores in each game. Try to beat them!:) Really fun place.

closest to arcade nirvana that you can get

Ah Barcade...brings you to the yesteryear of coin based game consoles. Cool thing is that some machines do only cost a quarter (barcade token) for classics as such Dig Dug, Centipede, & Tapper. There rest are a mix of old school & 90s (TMNT, Star Wars, Rampage) which costs 2 tokens. The more recent pinball machines cost 3 tokens and the Indiana Jones game is so worth it!

Want to wet your whistle while you play? Just head to the bar for drinks and snacks too. The Allagash is my beer choice. 1 or 2 of those keep my gaming hands steady! Their choice of select ales are a plus depending on what suits your fancy. The beer menu changes which gives you a variety of choice.

If you are gonna visit the best way by train is to take the G to Metropolitan Ave and then walk a few blocks. If you want to avoid the crowds, I suggest going Mon-Thu. Going Friday & weekend nights: good luck! It gets so packed that I get frat party shoulder to shoulder flashbacks. Unless you don't mind the crowds but it can really be overwhelming just to wait to play the games! There are other Barcades (2 in Manhattan & 1 in Jersey City) but Brooklyn's is my preferred choice to go to.

Definitely for the gamers at heart!

Excellent Place to visit

We stumbled across this bar recently. It's full of retro arcade games and has a great selection of beers. We spent a couple of hours here before we moved on. The staff were friendly and the prices were decent. Would recommend and definitely return in the future.

Great place.
We visited Friday early eve, the place was busy but still easy to order drinks and get on a machine to play.

You change bills for tokens and get 4 tokens for $1.

PAC Man, (my favourite) is 1 token per play. Pin a Ball machines are $2 & $3 per play. There is every kind of game you can think of.

We had a great evening and will deffo go back again.

Drinks a bit pricy.

You need ID to get in.

FANTASTIC

We went here twice during our short stay in Williamsburg after a recommendation from my sisters friend. There is plenty of games to play here to keep you amused for the whole night. The games either take quarters or barcade tokens which can be exchanged at 3 different machines located around the bar. The staff were extremely friendly throughout the night. The manager was especially helpful giving us helpful tips for the rest of the trip. The place was clean and welcoming. Plenty of areas to sit down and have a drink. The drinks were spot on. I highly recommend the Brooklyn Mule, one of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend!

Hard to get in
Sep 2018 • Friends
They do not accept anything but a license or in person ID. I have a picture of my passport and 3 other forms of identity (besides a license) and they won’t let you in. I was not able to attend. I do not recommend a place that gives you such a hard time to get in. Not worth it. I have friends who have been there and it’s not such an upscale place that it would be ok to demand such a thing. I will never attend for giving me such a problem.
