I've liked this trail very much. Not super difficult, but also requiring "good shoes".
The first distance goes along the river, so walking there is very enjoyable.
Nice views from the rocks. The rocks by itself are very nice too.
I was surprised to see up there a lot of moose droppings. To me it's very high ground for moose, but if there is something to eat....why not.
I didn't make the loop trail. My wife has stayed in 3/4th of trail, so I had to come back for her. We saw a lot of nice flowers.
It was about 2 hours of exercise.
I recommend it.

A bit steep at times, but ok for most folks of reasonable fitness. Nice views of the river. Easy to find the trailhead. Outhouse at the trailhead was tidy and had toilet paper!

This is a great place for hiking especially if you are looking for something that is only moderately difficult in parts and has some amazing views. It is not to far from Fairbanks. Most people only hike up to the rocks and then back down which is lots of fun to do. It is challenging in parts due to being mostly uphill on loose rock and shale. The full hike takes you from the trailhead all the way out to Chena Hot Springs. Once you get past the uphill portion it is level after that or downhill. The last part can get somewhat swampy if you take the lower trail. The views are spectacular for the entire way and the soak at the Hot Springs is nice to enjoy after such a long hike.

We packed our lunch and headed down the trail. The first part is a wide cut trail that follows along a river. It was mostly dry with only a few wet areas from snow melt. Hiking poles would be a help as you start climbing some of the more steep areas after the boardwalk.

We stopped just below the rocks and had our lunch with an amazing vista view of the valley we had just hiked out of. There were some people hiking around on the rocks above and we went up to check it out. We opted to just view from the trail and head back down the way we came up. It took us about 30 minutes to hike up the trail. We saw lots of dogs hiking this trail too.

We took the 3 1/2 mile hike here and it was an awesome hike for a novice hiker. Was challenging but well worth the beautiful views. Definitely not crowded. This is a great place for a day hike.

We decided to walk this trail as it looked to be about about the right time and distance. It is a 3.5 mile loop trail leading up to Angel rocks. These are spectacular granite outcrops or referred to as Tors in the UK.
You will need to drive approx 45 miles along the Cheena Hot Springs Road to reach the trail head. This is a long straight road with some uneven sections. There is a good car park here which can accommodate large vehicles. The trail is very well marked and well maintained.
We are over 65 but are used to walking so did not find the ascent too difficult. There is a gain in height of about 900ft. There are lots of false summits, but views are fantastic all of the way up. We thoroughly enjoyed this hike and it was not at all busy at the time of our visit. In fact we only saw four other people on the trail. It would be a good hike for older childtren with rock outcrops to explore.
However, at a later date I was informed by a local that this is a bear frequented area so take necessary precautions. We saw no signs of bears on our walk.
The descent is via a different path and is more difficult than the ascent, as the trail is more difficult to follow and parts of the upper section are quite steep. Nevertheless, we found no problem with this. Just take your time
You can go on from here to visit Chena Hot Springs.

Angel Rocks is an uphill hike that leads to superb views of the Alaskan wilderness. It is not that long but it gets the heart pumping. There are a lot of mosquitos on the trail so bring bug spray! There are bathrooms at the start of the trail.

We hiked this trail while it was raining and we are glad we did.
The trail is a short 3 hour loop and we added an extra hour to enjoy the beautiful views at the top. Just be prepared to expect muddy paths on the trail.
This is located near the Mile 49 mark on the Chena hot springs road and its is easy to spot the parking lot.

About an hour outside of Fairbanks. Beautiful ride up to the trail head. Trail is well maintained and the first part of the trail along the river was pretty simple. Was pretty steep up to the top but well worth it. The views were amazing. Give yourself 3-4 hours to hike both directions.

The Angel Rock Trail, which wie offer as one of our guided hiking Tours, is a gorgeous path through Alaska's wilderness.
About 2 Hours from Fairbanks or North Pole straight on the Chena Hot Springs Road, you will find it easily.
You Should be used to walk and climb, moderate to strenuous.
We always enjoy the wilderness, watching wildlife, wild flowers, picking Bernies and mushrooms.
Climb high through granite Rocks, this is an adventure one of a kind.
You can walk the round trip about 2 to 3 Hours or continue at the highest point to Chena Hot Springs.
The views on this hike are breathtaking.
