We did the Aurora overnight trip in January - and we got to cross off two bucket list "to do" items... (1) mush a team of dogs; and (2) watch the northern lights right from our own private tent. Doing this while camping in comfort was a huge bonus!

What we really appreciated about this trip was the ability to lead our own team of dogs and spend quality time with them. This was not a jump in the sled basket and get ridden around the track experience - you're actually mushing your own team out on beautiful trails. But at the same time, this is done under the watchful eye of an experienced guide who kept things fun and safe. When the trip was done, my muscles were feeling sore, but in a good sort of way.

What I also liked about the experience was the professionalism of the way it was run. Lisbet provided clear written information about what would happen and when and then the trip went down just as she said it would. Arctic Dogs had thought about and planned/coordinated everything in advance of our arrival. This is reassuring to know when planning a $$$ trip to a state many thousands of miles away.

The dogs were great. They appeared happy and well cared for and obviously love, love, love to run. And they also love, love, love visitors, which is super cool. The dogs all got very excited when we arrived (well the ones picked for the trip were even more excited of course). They were all great, but my favorites were Tommy (very sweet) and Svidd (absolutely hilarious goofball that we can't stop talking about).

The camp accommodations were also very nice. Soft comfortable bed in a very warm tent. Lisbet cooked and we had our meals in the larger tent, and the food was great (and I can be a bit of a fussy eater I will admit). The views were incredible, and it was the perfect spot to watch the northern lights from.

Nils helped with logistics, picking us up and then dropping us back off after the trip was done. We came to learn more about Siberian Huskies – but as an added bonus, we also learned from Nils about bear dogs.

To conclude – we came into the trip with the thought of this being a “bucket list” adventure, but we ended up liking it so much that we are now talking about doing one of the longer week long trips.

To conclude: Unforgettable experience and highly recommended!

Only take a trip with Arctic Dog Adventure if you want to end your vacation thinking, “OMG, that was the most badass thing I’ve ever done.” Seriously, everything about this trip was excellent- from the booking process to the actual mushing and camping experience- and that is a direct result of the incredible attention to detail, the professionalism, and the competence shown by Lisbet and her guides. I booked the Denali Dream trip, but due to aggressive moose behavior in the area our trip had to be changed at the last minute to a trip into the White Mountains over more technical trails, and required more camping, which was actually more appealing to me and the rest of the group as well. All five members of our group were traveling solo, and none of us had any mushing experience. We spent most of our first day learning to handle the dogs and to maneuver the sleds, and adjusting to Alaskan life off the grid. The next day we packed our sleds and we were off. Handling and driving the dogs was exhausting, frustrating, sometimes scary, and definitely exciting. But, it was also beautiful, and blissful, and I had moments on the trail when I found myself thinking that if there’s a heaven, it might be pretty close to what I was experiencing right then. For me, this trip was a bucket list item, and it was everything and more that I had hoped it would be. It will set a high bar for all future adventures. I can’t recommend Arctic Dog Adventure Co highly enough.

I went on a four night, five day trip with Lisbet and her team in January, 2020, and it was an experience I'll be talking about for the rest of my life. First, Lisbet is the real thing, a dedicated parent to the dogs, a long distance musher, and a caretaker to her guests, with plenty of stories to share about her adventures and the overall community of mushers around the Fairbanks area.

Lisbet provided a completely thorough packing list and supplied us with high quality essential items (arctic parka, overmits, down overpants, northern boots) that it wouldn't make sense to own unless you'll be doing this regularly. Despite some pretty extreme cold temperatures (-25F at least), I always felt safe and comfortable (well, I woke up cold one night, but pulled on a wool sweater and was fine).

I also felt confident mushing my team of six dogs as they were well trained and Lisbet provided the guidance and instruction for me to be successful quickly.

For me, the unexpected delights were the beautiful terrain we covered, and the night mushing, which was completely unexpected, and absolutely beautiful. Imagine a dark star filled sky, near silence as the dogs mush across the snow, and a bright headlamp illuminating snowflakes as they fall. It felt otherworldly for someone who doesn't do this every day.

And, of course, it was super cool to get to know the dogs. It was a crash course but by the end of five days I knew the personality of each dog on my team and some of them had warmed to me, which was a great feeling. Vishy, Svid, Hillary, Sluggo, I haven't forgotten you.

To be clear, this is an adventure trip, not a trip to Disneyland, and while it didn't require a super high level of fitness I was tired at times and don't expect a tent in the woods to be the Four Seasons, but if it's adventure you seek, and you love dogs and the wilderness, this is as authentic an experience as you'll get, with great dogs and a warm, experienced, and interesting leader.

This was an AMAZING activity! I’m not in shape, so I was huffing and puffing, but it was beautiful! Definitely book this experience if you have even the slightest love for dogs. I got Yksi, and she was pretty mellow, which is good for my pace. Lisbet is a wealth of information about the area and the history of sled dogs, and she’s genuinely interested in her guests’ hometowns, so it was wonderful to have conversation with her. She gave us homemade rhubarb muffins at the top of the ridge and they were to die for! Overall a wonderful value.

The husky hike was incredible -- so much more than we expected! My husband wasn't sure he'd enjoy it, but it turned out to be his favorite thing we did in Alaska! Lisbet was so knowledgeable about the dogs and helped us pick out a dog that was perfect for each of us. We picked berries along the way and stopped at a drop-dead gorgeous spot for homemade cookies and tea. Learning about the dogs and their way of life and getting to experience the pull of a husky was amazing. This is a great activity for families and such a cool Alaskan adventure!

This trip was AWESOME! I can't say much beyond that. We did just the 2-hour tour. Lisbet was incredible. She gave us a crash-course in how to sled, but she totally understands that no amount of verbal instruction really prepares you, you just have to get out on the sleds! She was really helpful and kind and just cool with us!

We met all of our dogs and were off! We sled through a forrest up onto a mountain where we could see Denali. It was honestly a spiritual experience! It was scary and exciting and incredible. Anyone with a mild amount of fitness level can do this, and though it's intimidating, you can do it and Lisbet is so helpful and cool.

After we put our dogs away and it was getting dark, Lisbet invited us in for some hot drinks, homemade cake (with freshly picked lingon berries) and conversation. It was honestly a perfect day in Alaska and we can't wait to book a longer trek with them in the future. Don't even think about doing dog-sledding sitting in a basket when you can have this incredible opportunity here to connect with your dogs and have one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life. 10/10 would fully recommend!

We were 5 Girls coming up to Fairbanks in the middle of the coldest Time, for some adventures!
After some research we decided to go with lisbet´s Option and it was for sure the right decision!

She was so friendly and open, we found ourself so welcomed and included into the experience!
Lisbet provided the right gear, including shoes, jackets, snowpants, gloves etc.
Then we started right away to get to know our dogs, harrnest them, got to know our very own dogteam (lisbet took her time to introduce every dog od your team) and after a few info facts about how to stand on the slay, we drove off into the Woods!

It was amazing! We drove up to the mountain with an stunning few and took lots and lots of pictures and saw an "out of words" sunset.

Back at the kennel we had to unharrnest our own team and bring the dogs back to their places!

After that we got some hot drinks and cake (*-*) at lisbets home and we shared stories and chitchatted for a while!

The memories we made their, will keep us warm for a long time! :)

Lisbet is a woman with a deep passion for what she does. The attention to detail for our evening camp out is just amazing. I have sled with 5 other mushers over the years and there is no comparison at all. Nils and Carolyn were the ones that took us mushing whilst Lisbet got all sorted for our evening meal with fire and warming tent. I also love the fact her dogs are all long line purebred Siberian huskies as I too own one. Most mushers if not all usually have a mix of dogs mostly though of Alaskan huskies. Don’t second think about booking them, just do it!

My wife and I did the Husky Hike with Lisbet. It was a lot of fun. She was a very friendly and knowledgable. We got to select the dog we wanted to hike with and then we went on our hike. About half way through we stopped and she gave us hot tea and a homemade muffin. The views were awesome too. The whole experience was incredible.

This was my favorite part of my trip. We go to see the dogs. The owner was super nice and knowledgeable about her dogs. She made sure everyone was safely engaged in the hike. Lunch was delicious. Even on a cloudy gloomy day it was a great time. I'm hoping to come back for a sleding trip next year.
