It was such a pleasure meeting Tekla and seeing all the wonderful pups. She really took the time to explaining the care of the dogs. 44 loud and excited, wanting to play dogs :) then she explained how the dogs are lined up behind the sled and we started to hook them up. Then they really got excited, like "LET ME GO, LET ME GO>>>" lol Then her father came out, and with them hooked up to a 4-runner ATV ( Minus an engine, since the pups are the engine LOL Then went off for a couple mile run. When they got back we un-hooked them and off into the river they went to cool off. Then it was feeding time. . If you are ever in the fairbanks area, You have to call the trail breaker kennel and go visit these outstanding animals. Plus, if your lucky enough to get Tekla to be your guide, you will be in for a great time!!

Visited today with my mother who has always wanted to do dog sledging in Alaska and being her 65 bday this year we managed to visit Fairbanks. This was the most amazing experience ever visiting such a brilliant well kept and maintained kennel. The owner/s should be very proud of their staff their especially Katrina who took us out on the sledge. She was really knowledgable and loved everything about her role and her job she had such a passion. Katrina made it a memory of a life time and being so close to Fairbanks was perfect great location. I would recommend these guys a million percent you will not be disappointed. Thank you to Katrina and everyone else who works there.

We did the nighttime aurora dogsled tour, and had an amazing night! Christine and Katrina made sure that we had what we needed to stay warm before setting out (thank goodness; what we had would not have been adequate). They are great people who clearly love their dogs! We learned so much about dog sledding, and loved meeting these extremely friendly dogs! The ride in the sled was amazing. The dogs were so eager - you can tell they just love to run. And rushing along through the night like that is just unforgettable. They had a spot set up with a fire, and had hot drinks and snacks available while we waited to see the northern lights. My husband and I really enjoyed our conversation with Katrina there - learned so much about dog sledding and Fairbanks (among many other topics!). Just as we were about to head back, the aurora did make an appearance for us, but at that point, it was just icing on the cake. It really was an unforgettable experience, and we are so glad we did this with Trail Breaker Kennels. If we get back to Fairbanks (and we hope to eventually), we'll be back.

My wife and I had an excellent time with the dog sled ride at Trail Breaker Kennel -- even though it was -17 degrees. Christine and Katrina were great -- very personable and obviously they enjoy their work. You shouldn't miss this experience!

Imagine the coolest thing you’ve ever done, now throw in the most polite, personable, and endearing guides you can think of and BOOM...you’re close to how awesome they are. My wife and I got married last week and came up to Alaska to adventure a little bit and this was BY FAR the best part of the trip. Katrina and Christina were spectacular hosts. They were educational, informative and open to our 5,861 questions :) We had originally booked a tour for 2:00 but stayed out late doing a Northern Lights tour and they were totally cool when we called to swap the times to something later in the day. We didn’t come dressed warm enough and they gave us extra gloves pants and jackets to keep us toasty, and I haven’t even mentioned the actual ride! The dogs were all amazing (what up Charles!) and the views were breathtaking (come to think of it that may have been the cold air...nah it was the views) we even got to walk on a frozen river. The excitement, dedication to their craft, and love for the animals on site was evident from the moment we walked up to the venue. I may have used all caps one too many times in this review, but in case I haven’t gotten the point across (*clears throat*) TRAIL BREAKER KENNEL IS THE BEST DOG SLEDDING TRIP YOU CAN GO ON. *drops mic*
