I loved walking throughout Old Town... I think it would take a week to see everything in and around FREDERICKSBURG. Take the Trolley first and get an overview... then visit the free sites... and have lunch a one of the great places all around Old Town. Take another day to visit several sites...and get a year pass so you can... More

Quiet streets, gorgeous old homes. This is one of the very most beautiful and well preserved "Old Towns" we've visited. A must see if you visit Virginia and Fredericksburg. Many fine places to eat with an atmosphere of the Old South.

Old Town, or downtown Fredericksburg, is filled with historic buildings and unique shops and restaurants. Besides the Courtyard Marriott, I did not find one chain store or business in the entire area! Businesses range from trendy (read expensive) to inexpensive restaurants, bars, antique stores, bookstores, coffee shops, spa products, and fair trade goods. Every few steps seem to lead to... More

I live in old town near the railroad tracks! It's perfect. I can walk everywhere and love the mix of young, old, businesses. There is always something going on. I am an artist and show at Art First Gallery. We are all part of a huge Art scene. First Friday of every month art openings!

I have stopped in Old Town a few times while traveling through Virginia. The BEST time is Christmas. You will be transported to a Dickens Novel.

Old Town has wonderful streets to walk with a slew of stores to visit. There are many antique stores, boutique stores, restaurants and historical attractions. The architecture is another great site. The weekend we were there they had musicians playing on the sidewalks, horse drawn carriage rides and people in period attire singing.

This has become an annual event that our family very much enjoys. The street lamps are decorated , the small shops are beautifully decorated and full of fun Xmas decorations and gifts. Not the same stuff as every other store in the malls. Plus there are all the antique shops to browse. There was a long parade of horses and... More

You can walk around on the recommended route in an hour or so, and enjoy the old town experience. Great way to see it.
