We stayed in Fredericksburg for 3 nights. On our first day I thought it was a little bit boring and excusable as we arrived on a Sunday afternoon when most of the shops were closed and Caroline Street was almost deserted. But once we did the Trolley Tour on Monday and got a wider view of the town when it... More

I love old town Fredericksburg. Cute shops, historic buildings, lots of restaurant choices. The river is very near the old town also, and there are plenty of trails for walking.

Beautiful old colonial town decorated accordingly in Christmas wreaths, old style ribbons, etc. Gently lit streets of tiny stores and lovely little eateries around Sophia Street parking garage make for a romantic stroll. Highly recommended!

It's always a pleasure visiting down town Fredericksburg. It's pretty active to be a small town, with shops, restaurants and a few pubs. The locals (me included) love a good stroll through old town. It can be a headache when road closures and events are taking place but for a nice evening walk or morning jog... it's perfect. Certain areas... More

Old town Fredicksburg is primarily one street: Caroline. There are a number of restaurants, bars, antique stores and other novelty shops along this street. The antique stores have some authentic stuff but mainly it's reproduction items. The restaurant I ate at (Capital Ale House) was pretty good. It's worth a walk through if you're already in town.

Lots of civil war antiques from bullets to beds. Must be at least a dozen antique stores all within downtown Caroline street. Great shopping for that unusual gift.

Wonderful walking about town. Lots of history. A museum or two, and tons of restaurants and shops! The Soap place was really great, but there's just lots to do!

This is a great place to have a rememberable dinner. I go there on special occasions (its a tad bit fancy). Its worth the money spent and would be a great place for a romantic date
