A real old fashion soda fountain

A great place to get a great sandwich, a wonderful milkshake, or soda. Right downtown Fredericksburg. Good place to just stop and take a break during a downtown trip.

If you miss getting an old fashion (50s/60s) milk shake, go here. My children and now my grand children love this place.

JMJ Great place to take some time out from all you've experienced in Fredericksburg for lunch. You can sit at the counter or at the few tables. Enjoyed my big, fresh sandwich with potato chips and a soft drink. Wanted to tasted the fountain creations but were too filled. Intended to come back later but ran out of time. Suggest... More

Goolrick's is a good place to get your medicine. It's also a freat place to grab a cheap lunch. They have simple sandwiches, chips, milkshakes, and ice cream sodas. The price is right, the service is quick, and the food feels homemade. I love the atmosphere, and I'm impressed this pharmacy has been able to survive.

We went for dessert while out holiday shopping. I had pumpkin pie and my friend had a chocolate sundae. The ice cream was the right choice - I watched the server pull the pie from a box that looked like it came from Food Lion. Not enticing a all and it wasn't tasty either.

My husband and I bought take-out food for a picnic and loved the easy, old-fashioned atmosphere. We got chicken salad sandwiches and chips, with a coke. Standard traditional drugstore fare from our childhoods!

If you remember drug store lunch counters then you will love the feeling of Goolrick's. You will not find "fancy" food here. Tuna, ham and cheese sandwiches, soup, your basic lunch counter fare. The milkshakes are awesome.

A long-running (oldest running) soda fountain. A place to stop and rest from your shopping and sight-seeing for a root beer float or an unusual egg-cream soda.

Breakfast was awesome. Had vanilla and chocolate shakes which were thick and creamy. Partner had bacon and eggs special - excellent. I had a toasted egg salad sandwich. Fresh and very tasty. You gotta eat here!!!!

A trip to the past... complete with malts and shakes made on site, a lunch counter serving sandwiches. The only compounding pharmacy in the area - great for those special prescriptions.
