What a great place to see a movie. This is a beautiful restored and lovingly maintained gem. We saw The Hateful Eight in 70mm format. Great seats. Also they have real popcorn with real butter. This is the kind of movie palace you remember from when you were a kid.

This theater shows current films, indies, and oldies, and has hosted film makers and the subjects of documentaries over the years. Attending a film here s like taking a trip back into a more comfortable, more reasonable time.

We've been living in Boston (temporary relocation from Ireland) for the past three months and Coolidge Corner fast became a favourite haunt for us. We've had the joy of seeing Jaws, School Of Rock & Rushmore and cannot rate the cinema and its staff highly enough. The audience is also one of a kind, with plenty of animation and enthusiasm!... We enjoy this theater that is pleasant and carries many of the small and artsie movies that don't make it to the big theaters. They also have book readings and other events that can be very good.

I'm 46 and I grew up in Brookline, so it's always nostalgic and comforting to take a trip to the Coolidge for a movie, usually followed by ice cream across the street at JP Licks. I remember seeing midnight shows of Mad Max and The Rocky Horror Picture show here when I was a teenager, and you can still catch... More

A hidden gem in the center of Brookline on Harvard St., "The Coolidge" offers new releases as well as vintage films from time to time. Currently undergoing renovation to improve the quality of viewer experience, it has a quaint retro feel and is located in the heart of Brookline's business district, close to many restaurants and shopping venues. In the... More

My husband and I love this theater! It shows all Indie movies and old popular/cult-favorite movies as well. You can buy wine or beer inside the theater which is a big plus! Also, I love how the big theater is so old (in a fun, vintage way!), only downside are the seats (they're definitely a bit worn out), but that... More

This is one of the few old movie 'palaces' left in the country and those of us living in the Greater Boston area are fortunate to be able to enjoy it. In addition to showing a wonderful combination of current and classic films, independent films, the Coolidge offers unique special events, attracts interesting speakers, hosts movie premieres ("Black Mass" with... Coolidge continues to bring first class movies not seen in the big chain theatres. The theatre offers special event programs and hosts children's birthday parties.

A blast from the past that has managed to keep up with the present giving us a choice of superb films new and old. They have something for everyone from live shows for children, documentaries, to midnight cult films along with the best the industry has to offer. All this in a historic movie theater that I might also add... More
