We highly recommend KB Tours for your historic experience in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. Kenny, our personal tour guide, surpassed our expectations as a historian of the more than 10 sites we visited. We gave him a list of “must see” historic sites and he added to our list. We had a private tour of just the two of us! His running commentary of dates, times and places was unbelievable. Kenny was very accommodating, polite and pleasant. He is definitely our tour guide for future trips! KB Tours you are a 5 star company!

The tour was excellent and the guild kept us interested in learning more about Washington DC and their rich history. We were able to see everything up close and the stops were perfect. The museum was closed but we received tickets that can be used up until next year so planning has begun for our return.

This is a great tour in a very nice air condition luxury Benz tour bus. My tour was just yesterday 9/11. The owner/driver Kenny was great, very knowledgeable and informative. The tour was fun and he kept us laughing throughout the tour. I recommend this tour if you’re going to DC and want to learn the history of our people and their contributions in the building our nations Capitol. Keep up the good work Kenny, your dedication to your craft and your customer service is impeccable. Support black owned businesses!!!!

I couldn’t get there in time because due to a parade there were road closures that the GPS couldn’t navigate us around and figuring it all out caused us to be late. There is a number that is given to contact the operator directly 202-355-5579 and that is exactly what I did. I text the message first and clicked on send about 10 minutes before tour started asking if he could wait. Didn’t get a response so I called and left messages on the voicemail. Finally got to the location about 9:40. If it wasn’t for Damon, another operator, who gave me KB actual cell number I wouldn’t have been able to talk to him at all which didn’t help because he keep on saying I You didn’t contact me after I kept trying to explain what I did to reach him. Then he began to argue and tried to convince me that I can’t use the reservation I had to even go to the African American museum on my own because I missed his tour. Very adamant about it. I’m so glad that I didn’t listen because the museum took our reservation, no questions asked. Glad it worked out this way because if we would have gotten there when he was to drop us off we would have miss out on eating in the museum’s awesome restaurant and would not have no way had enough time to complete the tour. Can’t figure out why he was trying to prevent us from going to the museum. It’s wasn’t like he was going to lose his mom. Very weird! He charged $90 to just ride you pass landmarks that are mostly in the same area. We learned it was not worth it. Fredrick Douglas was closed but if you do want to tour around I strongly recommend that you do not use KB!

I am glad I am able to respond to your review. I started my tour exactly at 9:30 am . I had other people who were on the tour that day. I strongly do not believe in letting people stay on a bus who there on time to have to wait. I usually have people cross the street and wait in front of the national Archives if they are Because of the parade that day I was not able to do that. The information about street closes was announced in the news media for day before the day of the tour. I didn't reach you because once the tour starts my attention is on my quest.
I have a very hard time with your part about me stopping you from getting into the museum. First anyone can get a ticket to the museum at any time. Secondly why would I even mention you could not get into the museum . What I was saying was you could not use your reservation for the tour on another day.

We were so excited to provide our staff with the opportunity to immerse in DC culture/history with a walking tour of the historic Shaw/U St. neighborhood, aka "Black Broadway." While our tour guide was perfectly nice, she did not seem very knowledgeable about the neighborhood or the rich and important history of this historic district. There was little to no mention about why and how the U St. Corridor became a neighborhood for freed slaves, how the race riots of 1968 impacted the neighborhood or how the largest Ethiopian migration found their way to DC/the U Street neighborhood. Hope KB Tours can use this feedback to improve future U Street/Shaw walking tours!

Jack leg tour was overpriced and mediocre! The tour was rushed and KB has an attitude, somewhat of a smart mouth with no patience. I’ll NEVER use him again and I tell you folks don’t use him either. Go with Signature D C Tours! Vernon and John are the best! Vernon goes through the tour thoroughly and knows his history. He had a great attitude and the tour was $10.00 cheaper. I wish I could get my money back from Jack leg KB but you live and learn. Only reason I gave 2 stars was because KB knew a little bit of history. They rest was Poor.

There is a lot to this story . When a guest shows up 15 minutes late for the tour and insists on me making a person who has a window (by the way the guest was there at 9:05 to get the window seat ) seat move so she can have the window seat. Before she came 15 minutes late the group was having a great time .The reason I was there and had not left at 9:30 because a senior citizen had difficulty walking up to the pick up site. I do not tolerate anyone being rude and disrespectful to my guest. Yes you are correct I do not have any patience for that kind of behavior. People pay their hard earn money to take tour the not to be insulted by another guest.

I had the fortune of being the only person who booked the tour on the day I went! Major treat for ME! I had a ton of questions and I had the tour guide's undivided attention! I have been to DC many times and participated in many tours. This one was VERY DIFFERENT in that I learned a great deal from the African American perspective! I am somewhat of a historian, so I am not easy to impress! Not only would I recommend it, I promised when I return to DC, I would take the evening tour for a different experience! It was great.

My sister travelled from California and I trekked from Texas to be tourists in our narion’s capitol. The KB African American Heritage Tour was GREAT! It was one of the highlights during our visit. Kenny‘s easy going personality was humorous and informative. He was a wealth of facts and tidbits that kept us riveted. And to top it all off, he took us to the NMAAHC. It was a terrific tourist time!

Our chief interest was seeing the African American Museum; arranged for a tour with KB Tours that included tickets to that and were so impressed by so much that Kenny provided -- there were 6 of us on his tour that day, on the Sunday after the Very Big Nationals Have Won the World Series Championship Parade (!!!) -- in fact, the tour originally was for that Saturday; he called us to ask if Sunday was possible. And what a tour -- it added so much to the whole experience. Kenny is so knowledgeable, has such a breadth of history and fascinating insights. I am telling my friends: Here's how to see the African American Museum: Start with Kenny. It's such a memorable experience.

This tour was just fantastic. Ken, our tour guide was prompt and timely in adhering to the pick up time and gave instructions on returning to the bus in a timely manner during the course of the tour. He was knowledgeable about the D.C. area in general and facts about the African American history in specific. Everyone was very comfortable on the tour as he responded to questions and exhibited humor in his reactions. Since he had a small groups, he was amendable to stay at one of the drive by stops for some food at the request of the participants; this demonstrated that he was flexible. This tour is all inclusive and I would certainly recommend it to others visiting the area.
