I loved this place, first time here and absolutely loved it, Its clean and not to crowed and loved that there is public bathrooms and even a picnic area to BBQ if you wanted.

Picnic by the River
Jan 2021 • Family
A beautiful Columbia River walk. Sandy beaches, grass, perfect for picnics. Covered picnic area. Dog and child-friendly. As with any park near a city, watch for broken glass, etc. Bathroom is pretty basic, cold water. Near a marina and RV park. A good place to sit and watch ships. Some pretty trees and flowers (seasonal) and plenty of open space.

Great park
Jun 2019
We took a walk along the beach, in September 2019 my friend caught a 20 lb King Salmon. Lots of toys for the kids to play on and picnic tables if you want to have a family picnic or you can put a blanket down and picnic on the ground. $3.00 entry fee - good for 24 hours.

A family favorite.

We bring all out of town company to Frenchmans Bar. Watching the big ships, taking a dip or playing in the sand are all favorite activities.

Great bike path
Aug 2019 • Couples
Park near the Vancouver Lake Park and ride over and through Frenchmans Park. All in a wide asphalt path. To add miles you can head North on dead end road. Minor traffic, Osprey and other birds and great views. Level 10-15 mile ride.

This is such a lovely place! Plenty of places for a leisurely stroll along the water. Great place for picnics...plenty of picnic tables and even charcoal grills to do some cooking. Nice little playground area, too. Very relaxing!

Great place to relax along Columbia River. Watch big ships, barges, sailboats and pleasure boats go by. Lots of people and bird watching...
Osprey nests on offshore pilings when hatching are fun to view.

Walking the Columbia River
Jun 2018 • Couples
My wife and I always enjoy a walk along the Columbia River on the sand as far north as the Caterpillar Island Slough, and as far south as the mouth of the Vancouver Lake Canal.

Setting For My New Book
Apr 2018 • Couples
Photos don’t do Frenchman’s justice. A beautiful, serene place to laze away a summer afternoon. Free & open to the public, with grills, trails, and the river right there to jump in. Scenic spot for a picnic. Many volleyball nets, so snag one before they fill up! This is the setting for my new novel. Lovely place.

Great for a winter walk too!
Jan 2018 • Couples
This is a wonderful year round park. The views of the Columbia River and mountains can be stunning. There is a paved trail just outside the park that is a popular walking path to and from Frenchmen’s Bar. Though the river may appear tranquil, it is still a shipping lane. Lots of activities are scheduled here, especially during the summer: beach volley ball, BBQ s and covered picnic areas, etc.
