Fort Rickey is a special kind of zoo with a focus on fun and interaction. We understand that children learn best and remember best when they are actively engaged. We offer feeding and petting areas, a maternity ward with baby goats and animal shows featuring wolves, otters and snakes. A giant tube and tunnel maze with ball crawl and slides compliments the hands on approach.

Not exotic animals here, but it is kid-friendly. Lots of petting opportunities, from baby goats to deer to tortises. There's a playground with a ball pit and slides with adjacent snack bar and picnic tables. The site is not particularly handicapped-friendly, with rough paths that...More

We took our 2 oldest grandkids here as a last hurrah before school starts, aged 6 and 8. They seemed to enjoy the animals and the ability to interact with the animals. They loved the playground and the pillow bounce. They especially liked the water...More

Fort Rickey seems to have developed from someone's oversized home menagerie. They got too many pets and a zoo was a way to get some funding towards the upkeep. There were plenty of opportunities to feed animals but nothing that you can't see in petting...More

We have been coming to Fort Ricky for the last 10 years. Always a great time. The variety of animals is not broad but the interaction and hands on is the reason we keep coming back. There is definitely something for all age groups. The...More

This place isn't huge and I would describe the facilities as appropriately rustic. It is just SO much fun for the young and young at heart. Everything is as hands on as the people running it could possibly make it. We have a season pass...More

I was skeptical when my wife said we should check this place out. I was pleasantly surprised - fort Rickey is really nice! We have a 1 year old, and she loved it! She got to pet goats, feed deer, see a buffalo, an owl,...More
