Not all of house is original and not all displays are from time period. Really a complete waste of time. AR is not worth slowing down for unless you need gas or food.

We walked in not knowing what to expect and Bill came right up to us and immediately dove into the history of Miss Laura's and how it fits into the Fort Smith story. Was kind and accommodating and very helpful with all knowledge of the town. Thank you, Bill!

We made our first visit to Fort Smith this weekend, and just had to stop at Miss Laura's to get our bearings. We're so glad we did! It's in a beautifully restored former brothel, with artifacts and furnishings from 1900-1910. Many of the lovely stain glass windows were put in in the 1980's but look original (I believe one or two were original to the house). Our guide was knowledgeable and funny, and I would not have any trouble bringing a child here-they are discreet. Upstairs is a restored bedroom and a room of period dresses from the era. Besides the house itself, the guides know the city and there is a good selection of brochures.

Well, the history of this place is very interesting. It’s free to visit, and we found the tour to be short but extremely informative. Our tour guide was able to answer every question and was overall very pleasant. If you like history or beautiful historic buildings, visit Miss Laura’s.

We toured with John and two other couples. John was simply amazing! His information and descriptions brought the entire place to life for us. He was friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. What an excellent idea and location for a visitor center! Thank you Ft Smith and all the volunteers for making our visit so memorable!
