Several reviews talk about how there is little to do on Tybee, but I disagree. It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want a night life, flashy restaurants and bars, and amusement parks, go to Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach exists to...More

Where do I start? The parking lots are disgusting. Dirty diapers, trash and clothes all over the grounds. The public restrooms by the pier are so dirty and smell of urine. I literally wanted to puke. The beach is filled with cigarette butts , bottle...More

South beach on Tybee is where I take my family, especially at low tide (you MUST know when the tide will rise and the current will be strong and can overcome weak swimmers!) to play in the tide pools and to watch the sun set...More

Great beach and views. Especially if you walk all the way out to the boardwalk. We took some amazing sunset pictures.

We enjoyed our stop here, until the jellyfish stings. It was a swim at your own risk type of place, but people were getting stung left and right. I suggest coming here before August. It was a clean, busy beach.

Parking is not free. $2/hr is what we paid. Beach is well maintained, clean, and plenty of room for large families. Downside is that you do have to carry everything you need from your car to the beach destination. So if you are from say...More

If you know then you KNOW! SOBE has it all from eating, to shopping, and plenty of "sight seeing". Some stuff you'll ONLY see at SOBE! Hubby and I had a blast.

Clean sand, warm water, easy parking--NICE! This is a lovely beach for taking a long walk, a refreshing swim, sun bathing. Just a short easy drive from Savannah! Puts Cape Cod beaches to shame!

We spent 4 hours here. Good sand - gentle slope into the water. Around Savannah I don't know what beaches are better. We went to Burkes beach in Hilton Head and enjoyed that a lot more (Coligny is gorgeous but way too busy). This beach...More

I was struck by how much South Beach reminded me of Cape Cod. Sans the sprawling homes. At loow tide the beach goes on forever. It is also a favorite for Kite Surfers. Catch them on the WE.

Tybee Island is about 15 miles outside of Savannah and is worth the trip if you need a bit of the Atlantic Ocean to round out your trip. The Lighthouse and historic houses on that land where the lightkeepers used to live is not to...More

South beach is removed from the main beach a bit and most of the beach goers go to the central or North beach. Granted that Tybee beach is not that large but I have not seen a lot of Spring break folks there at that time. IF... More
