We went last night to see ET,my wife is a big fan and bought the tickets, and we brought her stuffed ET to the show. We really enjoyed the show and all the concerts we have seen over the years at this Beautiful restored theater, and always look forward to what they may be having next.
Cannot wait till they replace the seats, sooner rather than later, but it's my only objection

One of our favorite venues for the annual Savannah Music Festival. Stunning restoration. Acoustically designed with no bad seats in the house. Have always enjoyed a front row seat in the balcony for several classical and bluegrass performances. Easy walking distance from Bay Street and shopping. Costs are usually reasonable for all performances.

We visited the Lucas to see the show Kodo. It was our first visit and won't be our last. What a wonderful and intimate theater it is. Well appointed and great viewing of the stage. Sound quality was excellent. The show itself is stunning and well worth the admission price. All in all a great evening out.

Ornate can't begin to describe the architectural interior with a huge domed ceiling and dramatic lighting. Went to the very entertaining Herb Alpert/Lani Hall show here, and I'll be back for a guided tour of this majestic theatre.

I’ve seen a few shows at the Lucas now. My husband and I met our friends for the Robert Earl Keen concert as part of the Savannah Music Festival. The Lucas is conveniently located in downtown Savannah. It has the ornate 1920’s Art Deco style that reminds me a lot of the Fox Theater in Atlanta just smaller and a little less fancy. It has a cute concession stand when you walk in that serves a few draft beers and wines and also popcorn. The bathroom is a little small but always clean. There is an upstairs balcony with a bar and bathroom. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house. The front few rows of seats don’t slope up very much so you can sometimes get someone large in front of you and it be a little hard to see. The seats are really comfortable and the venue is clean and well taken care of. They also use metal detectors for safety coming in the venue. They do a great job moving everyone inside and we have never had to wait very long to enter.

I joined a friend for an evening of “dinner and a concert”.....a performance featuring brothers who are outstanding musicians of “ stringed” instruments and performing with the Savannah Philharmonic. The concert was outstanding and the venue, once again, was absolutely wonderful.
The Lucas is a wonderful theater which has been renovated....I think, to it’s original grandeur.....the decor was brought back to its initial design, the seating is quite comfortable and there really doesn’t seem to be a bad seat in the theater. In fairness, over the last 30+ years, I/ we have enjoyed “box seats”...raised/elevated along the right and left sides of the theater...and on numerous occasions, the balcony seats. My husband and I had fortunately, front row seats in the balcony ....many, many times....it was truly great....BUT, we have also enjoyed multiple performances in balcony seats “way beyond” the front row. The point I’m making is that this venue is truly amazing. The architectural trappings, the wonderful acoustics, the grace and beauty of an old building that has survived and actually blossomed into a place which is and should be loved.
BUT, aside from the obvious, the wonderful music and performances, and the wonderful setting....this isn’t the foremost, the most important aspect of my review.
As my friend and I were making our way upstairs to our balcony seats, I slipped on the marble steps and became to center of attention with abrasions, the prolific oozing and bloody kind, from my elbow to wrist on my arm. Truly an accident, with no one at fault!!!! But, the immediate attention provided me by multiple staff members of the Lucas was outstanding. They provided first aid....but more importantly to me, the care and concern was SO generous and so real/authentic. And, after my “wounds” were taken care of and I was seated, the director of the Lucas(or at least I think he was) came upstairs to check on me......MUCH to my embarrassment, I did not catch his name. The house lights were down and the intro to the music and introductions of the featured sololists had begun. So his name did not stick with me.....And for that, I am so very sorry I didn’t get all of my “ducks in a row” !
The staff of the Lucas were so gracious and caring to and for me. As I said earlier, my enjoyment of this theater has been long standing.....and I am looking forward to many, many more performances in this “Grand Old Lady” of this South.
Again, THANK YOU Lucas.

Lucas Theatre is great and I enjoy going here for the Savannah Philharmonic concerts. Sadly, my past few experiences here were not so great, because of the lack of air conditioning towards the back of the balcony. This detracted from my experience, which is really too bad.

We went for a retro movie night and it was so much fun. It is like going back in time and seeing Audrey Hepburn movies with wonderful snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic). Wonderful and friendly staff. Seats a little uncomfortable, but not enough to change my review. Makes me happy to see it so beautiful again.

We really enjoyed walking by the building every day as it really reminded us of the theater from the movie Back to the Future. The architectural design is beautiful and unique. We loved the old school 50's style sign wrapped around the front.
