we really enjoyed this tour. We have been on other food tours in other cities and this was up there with the best. somehow we got a bonus stop at another place that was not listed . kudos to the tour company as i know that cost them something. what made this tour and even better value was the guide pointed out landmarks and monuments and told the history behind them,. As a suggestion, i would encourage them to negotiate some discounts on the drinks for the participants being this was the slow time for the bar during the day

one small point i would also make is that the first stop is at the restaurant in the andaz hotel, Our group was is the same vicinity of other patrons, and being its a loud restaurant to begin with, it was not as conducive to have a presentation for a group as the other places we visited

Loved our First Quarters food tour this past weekend! Kellee was our guide and knew a great deal of facts about historic Savannah and the food we ate. She also made sure that everyone was safely distanced and wore a mask to protect us and herself. She also recommended other great restaurants and locations throughout our walk. I would say I was disappointed we don’t eat at the actual restaurant, we sat outside at random spots for most of the meals. And no drinks provided, thankfully we brought water bottles. But it did not impact the fun we had and I recommend this tour 100%!

We had a wonderful time on our Food Tour of Savannah. My husband and I are bad about going to the same places over and over because we never know what to do in new places. I heard about a food tour in another city from a friend and decided I would look it up in Savannah. We were so impressed with the food on the tour that we booked reservations at one of the restaurants we visited. Our guide was great! She spoke loud enough so everyone could hear what she was talking about when we were walking around. She was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the city. 10/10 recommend this food tour. Book it! You wont regret it! :)

The tour guide was good in terms of overall knowledge and leading us through various restaurants, but overall the company did not do a good job providing for dietary needs even though the question was asked upfront at time of reservation. If a restaurant does not want to accommodate that might not be the best restaurant, but minimally other snacks could have been provided outside of the restaurant. Or the company should be upfront that they cannot provide for a dietary request.

Our guide Rachel was outstanding she got everyone to feel real comfortable with each other right from the start. People were interacting laughing, telling jokes very relaxed. The sites visited were very interesting, she had a wealth of knowledge about Savanah and each restaurant. I would recommend this tour to all who visit well worth the cost and time.

The tour was great and what made it phenomenal was the tour guide. John gave us a high-level overview of the city's history and showed us some of the most popular gastronomical spots.

He recommended many restaurants throughout the city for the rest of our stay in Savannah. John was very energetic, happy, and enthusiastic. He exceeded our expectations.

The price was very reasonable and we honestly think we got a lot more than we paid for!

Pros: Lots of history provided while walking through Savannah. We stopped at lots of squares and passed by historic buildings and locations and out guide gave us lots of information to Savannah's history and the people that have shaped the city. The food was great. Our guide was very informative and educated on Savannah. She provided maps to those that wanted them and a scannable QR code to provide the order of places on the tour. Drinks were available for additional purchases. They also check & ask about allergies prior to food served
Cons: small amount of food for the price. They tell you the restaurant but not what will be served and there is only one small sample offered at each location. If you don't like something (ie. oysters) then you don't get anything at the restaurant. The last stop was leopold's ice cream, and you don't get to pick your flavor, which was a bit disappointing.

This tour felt like a history tour of Savannah with some food samples thrown in as opposed to a food tour with a bit of history. I only say that because the price is reasonable for the history provided but the food samples were small and you only got one sample at each location.
Also one of our locations was changed, which we didn't mind.

We took the First Squares Food Tour and are glad we did. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and we got to sample fares from six very different local restaurants. It was also great to learn so much about the local history.

This was an excellent food tour. When we visit a new city one our favorite activities is to take a food tour. This was one of the better food tours we've attended, mainly due to our guide who was very personable, knowledgeable and fun coupled with some truly delicious food. The stops offered an eclectic sampling of Savannah's top dishes and due to the fact that our tour guide was a chef, it was very interesting to get her opinion and guidance on where she personally eats in the city. We had two vegetarians in our group and they were incredibly accommodating. We also had two young children. While my youngest didn't love all of the options (he's 5 and my expectations were low), he still had a really great time. It wasn't a ton of walking, just right, and he was willing to try a few of the different tastings (he loved the honey and the chicken sandwich). We'd love to come back and do on our the other tours this company has to offer.

Their webpage specifically says "We keep our tour sizes to an intimate 8 persons." This is absolutely not true. We did the tour in December and there were 12 people in our group. I told the tour guide that we were expecting no more than 8, and that is part of why we signed up. She said she was unaware of the statement on their own website, but that she would tell the owners. I never head back from anyone, and the false statement is still on their website. So sign up if you want. The food is ok, but not amazing. But don't expect this small, "intimate" experience. Apparently the owners will sign up more people if they can make more money.

Thank you for your feedback and for pointing out the mistake on the website. We have been operating at 12 guests for almost all of 2021 and had changed all of the early pandemic era language that mentioned 8 guests in the first quarter of the year . . . although apparently we missed one place, which we have now fixed thanks to you. And a special thanks to you for being the first person out of nearly 20,000 guests we had in 2021 to find the mistake. That being said, we're still curious why 12 guests in a group can't be considered an "intimate" size. More importantly, we are at a loss as to why one would claim to only have chosen the tour because of the 8 guest limit . . . but still take the tour when 12 people showed up. We would have happily canceled your booking and refunded your payment had you made us aware that the 4 extra people was so offensive to you that you wouldn't be able to enjoy a deliciously fun tour designed around eating and learning about the incredible cuisine of our city. And yes, as one of the owners, I do hope our small tourism business can "make more money" in the age of COVID, when so many others have been crushed by the pandemic. Thank you again for the opportunity to address your concerns publicly. Cheers, Stu C., Co-Founder
