Docent is a word normally associated with museums and cathedrals. We discovered that Savannah has a docent of its own. His name is Brandon, and his vehicle is Savannah True Tours, which features several walking tours.
We selected the Revolutionary Savannah tour and were delighted. Brandon had a binder, but no script. His knowledge of Savannah’s history flowed fluently, and he had answers for any questions we came up with.
The two hours we spent with him went quickly. We’ll come back to Savannah and when we do, we’ll happily spend time with him discovering another chapter of its history.
