I've visited Savannah over 8 times; but this was my first tour of Bonaventure Cemetery and it was the highlight of this trip! We heard stories I have never heard or the details that are usually left out. The historical research put in to these stories was impressive. The guide had a captivating presence and a voice that could easily be heard by over 40 people. I highly recommend this tour even if you feel like you've done it all in Savannah!

Don't waste time on any other guide. Shannon is the best. He came highly recommended by our Airbnb host and her referral was on point. Shannon is presentation and fun "tid bits" of interesting history made for entertaining learning.

Shannon Scott did a great job. He told interesting stories that brought the cemetery to "life". He pointed out interesting details that would be easy to overlook. He explained cemetery protocols which included some I had never heard before. And he walked fast but not so fast--a person with a cane was able to keep up. A flashlight is a must...there are no "street lights" in the cemetery. He also talked clearly and projected so even though it was a large group, everyone was able to hear and see what he was talking about.

I booked with Shannon a week before traveling to Savannah. Two days before my scheduled 2 pm tour on a Wednesday I received an email asking if I could switch to a 10am tour on Wednesday or Thursday . I said “yes” I could do a 10am on Thursday. I arrived with printed confirmation in hand, at the designated location 20 minutes prior to the start time of the tour. 10 am arrived and no one showed up. I tried calling Shannon’s number unsuccessfully. I called the booking number and after 4 to 5 back and forth calls I was put in touch with Shannon . He was home, sick in bed. He told me that I could join another tour in process at the entrance to the cemetery. I drove to that area and the lady said I would need to pay her $25/person. Since I had paid a week previously by credit card I made another call to Shannon and he straightened the situation out. We went on the one hour golf cart tour , with a very nice young lady and I enjoyed the cemetery very much. Therefore, my complaint is the lack of communication from Shannon and the lack of communication between the booking and tour quides.

Shannon Scott gave an absolutely fantastic tour. Pace of the tour was lively; never dull. Shannon seamlessly adjusted the tour to accommodate the varying levels of mobility of our group. His voice is clear and strong; really easy to hear no matter where I stood. When we visit Savannah again we will certainly book another Shannon Scott tour.

Shannon Scott is very knowledgeable about Bonaventure and history in general. He has powerful voice and wonderful delivery, yet he connects well with the group and is responsive to questions. He is very entertaining; part of this is his enthusiasm and spontanaity. He is a fountain of information, but doesn't come across as scripted. The highlight of our trip. Don't miss this opportunity.

Shannon is very knowledgeable, charismatic, and an excellent story teller. I was thrilled with the amount of detail he had for each stop on the tour, and how he very vividly painted a picture of what had happened with each person and their family. The cemetery itself is beautiful, and you could wander around for hours just looking at everything. I highly recommend this tour, and if you have time, take his day time tour, as well!

Shannon was able to strike a wonderful balance of historical education, spooky true stories, a local insiders knowledge of the cemetery and surrounding city of Savannah. He was able to add a touch of humor while maintaining respect for the people entered in the cemetery. Would highly recommend Shannon Scott for any of the tours he offers. Will return and book another tour.

We really enjoyed this daytime tour! Shannon is very knowledgeable on the history of the many Savannah families who are buried in Bonaventure. He speaks confidently and there was no difficulty in hearing him. Always wonderful to have a tour guide who is truly passionate about his work.
Make sure to bring bug spray as Bonaventure is on the water

This is a very unique, beautiful and historic cemetery worth visiting. Our guide truly had a passion for history and was very knowledgeable about the famous people/families buried there, their role and connection to Savannah and various traditions to burial rituals relating to specific time periods. I probably wouldn't have chosen this type of tour on my own but am glad I went with a group on our trip. The panoramic visual of the grounds in itself is worth seeing!
