We did the 2 hour tour with Dawn! My wife and I had decided that we wanted to do a tour of our own until we came across the guided tours and thought it would be best to get all the information from someone who knows. And let me tell you, Dawn knows! This tour was hands down, the best historic tour we’ve ever taken, in any city we’ve ever been. Dawn was extremely knowledgeable, and the tour not only included a detailed history of the site and its famous graves, but a comprehensive lesson in funerary arts, which quite frankly, we did not expect! We found ourselves in awe of all the information that we just never knew about the different symbols, statues, and carvings that we see in every cemetery we visit! Dawn was able to not only give us the information that was tried and true for her tour, but she could even answer any questions we had about some obscure marking or grave in the distance. At Johnnie Mercer’s grave, she regaled us with a very moving rendition of all of his most famous songs, that moved not only myself, but other members of the tour to tears! We asked so many questions, and were so involved in the tour, that we went over two hours, and all of our tour found ourselves not wanting to leave! I WILL recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Savannah in the future, and it will be a new staple for us to take, anytime we visit again! Thanks Dawn, it was an absolute pleasure!

We were a group of 8 who took the tour. Our guide was Dawn. I had read some reviews so I kinda knew what to expect from her. We all agreed Dawn did a great job. She was very knowledgeable about the cemetery. At times I suspect she took some liberties with some of the stories which was fine because she was entertaining throughout our two hour plus tour. Dawn has a bit of a haunting ghost tour persona which we all thought was perfect for the tour. And she did sing for us at Johnny Mercer's gravesite. Not bad either. It was worth the money we paid. Thank you Dawn!

We had a very enjoyable and informative walking tour of the Bonaventure Cemetery. Our guide, Dawn, gave us so much information on the history of the cemetery itself, the many notable family plots, the beautiful artwork on the gravestones and many intriguing stories. She was just an excellent guide. I would highly recommend the Bonaventure Cemetery Tours!

We were dubious at first, it's a cemetery right ? Over and above the wonderful views of the surrounding area and the beautiful grounds the tour was just outstanding. Dawn was the most amazing guide we could have found. She brought the place to life (pun intended) for us and we were astounded at the history and knowledge she was able to convey. I would love to do it again so we can ask better questions and learn even more. Truly a must see tour!

We had Dawn! She was very knowledgeable and shared lots of historical information on the property, the burial customs, and even sings! She was very entertaining and had lots of stories to share. We walked away knowing lots of new things we never knew about cemeteries and Savannah. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the secrets of Bonaventure!

We went with Dawn who apparently knows every story of every family interred in the cemetery and a good knowledge of cemetery art. She has a wonderful dramatic voice as well as a wonderful singing voice. I wish we had more time to learn from her.

At the suggestion of friends, we took a walking tour of the Bonaventure Cemetery. Our tour guide introduced herself as Dawn and then explained how many refer to her as "Dawn of Savannah's dead."
The tour was a walking tour and was scheduled for two hours. While we were slightly over the two hours, no one complained as Dawn made this one of the most interesting tours we had ever taken.
Her passion for her job coupled with her knowledge of the cemetery were extraordinary. She gave us a great experience and shared an incredible amount of details of the cemetery and many individual grave sites. We especially enjoyed when she sang a few of Johnny Mercer's songs for the group.
We highly recommend this tour! Ask for Dawn as she really is amazing.

"Dawn of Savannah's Dead" was our very informative tour guide. It was very interesting to learn about the explanation and meaning of the symbols and carvings found on gravestones. The story of little Gracie Watson is just one of many stories I learned about in my 2 + hour tour. Dawn's music tribute medley was also a very nice touch added to the journey. Thank you Dawn for the very nice time!

I came to Savannah with my sister to check out all the beautiful history here. We decided to tour the cemetery and our guide Chris was fantastic! I highly recommend checking this tour out if you're interested in the history of the people who built Savannah or the book Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil. If you can request a tour guide definitely ask for Chris.

We experienced the beauty of Savannah's Bonaventure Cemetery with Dawn of Savannah's dead. She was rich with knowledge of funeral art, the city's history, as well as the occupants of our venue. She was a wonderful story teller and we would do it again in a heartbeat!
