Savannah America's Most Haunted City® Walking Ghost Tour

Wanting to just take a dip into Savannah's paranormal past? See if the whole thing's for you? Try on our original classic, dealing with the oldest, most haunted part of Savannah's Historic District, The America's Most Haunted City Tour. Our company founder organized the 2002 conference for America's foremost field research group, The American Institute of Parapsychology, that presented Savannah with their highest honorarium, "America's Most Haunted City." Leaving many to wonder, "WTH?"(What The Haunted?) This 90 minute tour covers roughly a dozen city squares, covering a broad range of topics, that in their own way, set the stage for the A.I.P. honor in 2002. Ranging from the only witch ever executed in Savannah, to a home that was exorcised four times and that Duke University declared, "the most psychically possessed home in America."

We had Dawn as a tour guide and she was great. We are always worried that a tour might be cheesy or not that great and Dawn was neither. She clearly had a passion for showing people Bonaventure and was not just going through a rehearsed tour. The tour provided plenty of information about the cemetery itself but also offered tons of details about the funeral art seen throughout which added a great aspect. I would definitely recommend a tour with them.

Savannah is a city of limitless charms, and Bonaventure Cemetery is a must-see for any visitor hoping to unlock its most potent magic. While walking on a self-guided tour or driving through this legendary burial ground is certainly an option, my husband and I decided a guided tour would best satiate our curiosity regarding the history, mythology, tombstone iconography, and uniquely Southern natural beauty surrounding this beguiling spot. Our tour guide, Chris, did not disappoint. Despite a swarm of hungry mosquitoes that hovered about our group throughout the duration of the two-hour tour, Chris patiently and generously provided bug repellent while regaling us with a rich treasure trove of facts and fabrications that never ceased to fascinate. His personality was warm and genuine without seeming fake or over-the-top. Indeed, the Bonaventure Cemetery Tour is an experience that only heightened our appreciation for this one-of-a-kind jewel in the crown of captivating American cities.

Our tour guide, Dawn Martin was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the history of the cemetery (e.g. types of graves, grave markers, maintenance of gravesites, etc.). One could spend hours in this cemetery, but having more intimate knowledge of it makes it a bit more special. Bring good walking shoes and mosquito repellent. Might want to bring some water too if it is an especially hot and humid day. Dawn even provided an impromptu medley of Johnny Mercer songs.
