A pleasant place for a stroll

A nice area a few blocks down from the river with lots of independent shops and restaurants. A pleasant place for a stroll.

We got there late so a lot of the shops had already closed. A lot of bars are in this area so it was easy to mingle and meet new people.

There are wonderfully-gifted artists with studios in the City Market. If you love art, be sure to visit. If not, there's plenty of other things to see, do and taste around Savannah.

A lot of walking is done in Savannah. This is the old market street with unique items such as handmade straw hats, candles, lace umbrellas, crafts. This is definitely a place you will not want to miss if you walk the streets of Savannah.

I assume that this City Market used to have many unique stores and cute restaurants which really is no longer the case. Not worth going here as a "destination" to see but nice to stop and have an ice cream or fudge.

We have made it a point to stop and enjoy a walk thru the shops at City Market twice now...loved it both times. Many unique little shops. We had delicious pizza on the very corner, sorry can't remember the name. Loved sitting outside enjoying the scenery while we ate. Music, shopping and beautiful dining choices...a fav.

The city market has quaint shops and numerous restaurants, cookie shops, wet Willies, and ice cream shops? There is live music entertainment in the market place every afternoon/evening.There are carriage rides available...there are water spouts for the children to enjoy.

This is touted spot. However, there is just not a lot going on. There is a chain restaurant, ice cream shop & art "gallery". I don't get the appeal. I've been to Savannah many times. I've never understood why this place is an attraction.

We stop every year to view all the new and old artists set up in the market. Last visit we purchased an original oil from Vicci Waits, this year it was an original water color. A fantastic score for only 38.00! Unbeatable. Love the vibe of this place.
