I love the way the city is set up. Squares every few blocks. As we walked so much it was nice to stop in the shade and people watch as we rested. The homeless people are a problem. I know wherever we visit they are around. Note to all vacation destinations: put them on a bus and send them to Chicago.

Oglethorpe square is a beautiful square in the Historic District of Savannah Georgia. It has the moss covered live oaks and is dedicated to James Oglethorpe, the man who shaped the city.

Each and every square has a story rich in history. I found musicians through out the square, super chill! Friendly

Very pretty and peaceful square. But I had to chuckle that Oglethorpe's statue is in Chippewa Square! Ha!

So many things go on there. Music, picnics, games, a Farmer's Market, History, the Fountain, The lovely homes which surround it. Or you can just go and people watch!

There are 23 squares remaining in Savannah and it seems like we visited most of them during our trip. This is another great one and is an example of the planning that went into this beautiful southern city.

Benches not of uniform height. Several trees lacking pretty Spanish moss. People in nearby Owens-Thomas house were taking our picture. Kind of creepy.

The square is truly a beauty to behold. Oglethorpe has a great man, this area owes him a great debt.

This one was also similar to the other squares but also had beautiful buildings all around. The small park is quaint and very peaceful.
