What a wonderful tour we had around the streets of Savannah. I learned so much about the city and our tour guide was engaging and interesting as he told us the history of Savannah. I would highly recommend this tour company for anyone wanting to have an unforgettable experience.

If only my history teachers in school could have had a fraction of TC’s enthusiasm for American History! We were enthralled for the entire 2 hours by TC’s knowledge, humor, wit, stories, commentary, music, visual aids and his energy. We left feeling like we had had an experience, not just a guided tour. TC gets an A+.

I’ve done the ghost tour and the Savannah history tour with Genteel and Bard, and they were both fantastic. TC is an absolute delight. He’s incredibly dynamic and passionate about the city, and his depth of historical knowledge is really impressive. I find him to be especially good at bringing out inclusive histories and the stories that don’t always make it into mainstream narratives, while still being engaging for less geeky tourgoers. The use of headsets and integration of multimedia content during the tour are also really great at enhancing the experience. I took the tour as a new local to get to know the city, and I’ve already started recommending it to both my friends and visitors.

My boyfriend and I were visiting Savannah for the first time, and we brought our friends who live there on this tour with us. All of us are in our late 30s. It was hard to pick which ghost or history tour to do in Savannah because there are so many options. We lucked out when we picked Genteel and Bard. Our guide was TC (who is one of the owners of this two-family-owned operation) and he was great. The tour was part history, part supernatural stories and he was a pro at telling both. None of the cheesy, too-loud talking of a bored tour guide just going through the script.
He was personable, and I got the impression that he loved Savannah and loved showing the town to people. Everyone gets a small headset with earbuds for the tour which was EXCELLENT. TC could talk in a normal voice and each person could control their volume and hear him as loud as they needed to, in their own ears. This way he was able to be a bit more intimate and spooky sounding as well. Highly recommend!

We took the tour of Savannah Historic District with Jovi. He was absolutely amazing! He is a great storyteller and it was so easy to get caught up in his stories. It was a 2 hour walking tour after dark. I definitely recommend this tour and we will almost certainly do this again next time we are in Savannah.

Such an enjoyable tour! TC was so friendly and captivating, really enjoyed the headsets as well as his use of music and pictures. He talked to locals and you can tell he has a real passion for the city and sharing it with others. Learned a lot!

We got lucky and had wonderful cool weather and TC was a warm, charming, and personable guide that showed us around his beloved Savannah. He had interesting stories and information about a fairly wide range of Savannah history and current life. The headphones were a definite plus in our COVID-19 world. Kids enjoyed tour too-the 15 year old said it was her favorite experience of our 10-day trip to Asheville, Savannah and St. Augustine. I felt it was worth the extra cost and company is family owned.

Bradford was awesome and the tour was very eerie yet fun. We learned so much about the history of Savannah, felt chills go up our bodies, and felt a presence watching us. We’d come back just to go on another tour with Bradford. His story telling and gestures immerse you in the stories, he uses volunteers and remembers everyone’s names which makes it feel very personal and familiar. Overall 10/10!!!

We took the Dark History and Ghost Encounter tour and it was just ok. While personable and friendly, we felt the guide spent too much time sharing personal stories and stories about what other guests experienced on tours and not enough time on ghosts. In a haunted city like Savannah, there has to be more ghost stories and dark history to share. The headsets were brilliant.

Not that good as compared to the ghost tour we went on last year with “ Savannah history and haunts, candlelit ghost walking tour”. I would highly recommend this tour - the tour guide was very knowledgeable and much more interesting. This tour was not.

How much walking is in the ghost tour of Savannah? And are there places to sit along the way? Wanting to book soon but will be traveling with my mother who can walk but has some mobility issues. Thanks

We did the Ghost Walk with TC and it and he were outstanding. I just didn't see any ghosts, but I'm sure they were around. I think Savannah would be excellent in the winter - spirits or not.

Hi! Thank you for writing and great question. We always recommend advance booking because our tours fill up quickly. Savannah is a wonderfully popular destination. If you're visiting from January through February, We recommend 1-2 weeks in advance. If you're traveling between March-December, we recommend booking 2+ weeks in advance. --T.C. & Brenna
