    Fantastic Tour
It was my first time in Savannah. Of all the classic tourist activities in Savannah, Tybee Island, etc., this was by far my favorite. The director Janie’s passion for her work was tangible and contagious. I was shocked when I learned it was only recently reopened, as the exhibits were fascinating and so helpful. It was the closest I have gotten to personally meeting the woman who has profoundly shaped me. In doing so, I met part of myself. To any and all visitors to the area in the future, I give this museum my highest recommendation.
Bradley, thank you so much for this lovely and generous review. It was wonderful to spend time with you at the Home. We're so excited that you joined our Friends of Flannery membership; we can't wait to have you back for another tour and to see you at as many upcoming events as you can make!

    Best historic tour in Savannah
The best historic house tour in Savannah! The home is gorgeously restored, with an incredible collection of original furniture and family belongings. Janie brought the history to life with her dynamic tour, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm. This is truly a gem, not to be missed!

    Highlight of our Trip!
This was a great tour. Did not know much about Flannery O’Connor when we started out but it proved a great way to learn. Also a great slice of life of Savannah in 1920s. Like the Kiddie Koop. (See photo) This was O’Connor’s CRIB. Going to the library tomorrow to get some of Flannery’s short stories!
What a nice review! We love knowing that you left the museum with a greater knowledge and excitement for Flannery O'Connor. That's why we do what we do! We hope you enjoy reading her stories and will come back to see us again!

A must-see for writers and fans of American Literature
The staff and tour guide were wonderfully welcoming and friendly. Their passion for Flannery O’Connor’s life and work is contagious. The home is carefully restored to the early 20th century of O’Connor’s childhood, and the experience provides a much stronger connection to the writer and her work.
What a compliment, John! Thank you so much for this review. We're so happy that you had a good time with us, as we did with you. Please come back to see us again soon!

Fascinating history of Savannah author's life
Flannery O'Connor's home was a neat look into a middle class house of the '30's but even more interesting was learning about her upbringing and her larger than life personality. Loved it! We did a tour of the Cathedral first and then walked across the square to her house which was a good way to see both in one trip.
Thank you, Jean! We're so glad you and your husband enjoyed your visit to the Home. We hope you had the most amazing anniversary trip to Savannah. Come back to see us any time!

    Fabulous Tour
This was a fantastic tour of Flannery O’Connor’s childhood home. Janie, our tour guide was terrific. She had great knowledge of Flannery O’Connor’s home and her delivery was outstanding. I could have listened to her for hours! We are not usually “tour” people, but my husband and I really loved this experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah.
This is such a kind review! We're especially flattered knowing that it's coming from people who aren't usually tour people! Thank you so much. And Janie would have been pleased to talk with you about Flannery for hours! We hope you'll stop in again on your next visit to Savannah :)

    Lovely home and wonderful guide!
I took a tour on September 15th and I had a great time! My tour guide Janie was very informative. She was open to questions and gave plenty of time to explore and take photos. The house itself is beautiful and a must-do if you’re a Flannery fan or visiting Savannah!
Thank you so much for taking the tour and for writing this review, Zoey! What a fun afternoon tour we had together. Hope to see you again soon!

    A must take tour
My husband I loved this tour! Janie did a great job showing us around and talking about the house and Flannery O’Connor! We loved seeing the house and the amazing furniture and treasures. We learned a lot about Ms O’Connor, she was a very interesting person. So glad we took the tour!
We're thrilled that you and your husband enjoyed your tour with us so much! It was wonderful to have you. Thank you for supporting the Home by taking the tour and by writing this review. We hope to have y'all back again soon!

    O'Connor House
I was in Savannah for a few days and knew about the Flannery O'Connor house. I am a fan so I stopped by. I happened to be the only (or first) visitor of the day so I got a personal one-on-one tour. The guide was passionate about O'Connor and her life and was full of interesting information. I left a nice donation. It was well worth the time.
It was very fun to spend an hour with you at the Home, Eric! Impromptu private tours are always a blast. Thank you so much for taking the tour, for the donation, and for writing this review--your support means the world.

We had a very interesting tour with Jo who presented many known and unknown facts about Flannery. The restored home of her childhood is charming with many gifts to purchase, including books and bags. It was nice to see the proximity of the Catholic Church to Flannery's home ..and can now understand why the church was such a part of her views and beliefs. Highly recommend this to all who have read A Good Man is Hard to Find.

Thank you for this review, Christine! We're so happy you enjoyed your tour with Jo, whom we're so lucky to have as a docent! The proximity of Flannery's childhood home to one of 5 largest Catholic cathedrals in the country is quite striking and certainly does deepen our understanding too of her as a religious person. Wonderful to have you and your friends at the Home; we so hope you'll be back to visit in the future.

Fantastic tour! My husband and adult son and I were treated to this gem of an experience on a recent trip to Savannah. It was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to this unique city. Both Fans of Flannery and those unfamiliar with her work and life will enjoy learning more about this fascinating author and human. Our guide, Janie (sp?) was fantastic. Her ability to share about the life and legacy of Flannery O’Conner with warmth, humor, compassion, intelligence and obvious admiration made for a very fun and enlightening time. We felt as though Flannery had become a friend of ours (and Janie, too!) And, we left wanting to learn more about Flannery and her work.
Great little gift shop, too.
Would highly recommend when in Savannah!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review and to recommend us to others! We're so happy to know you enjoyed your tour of the Home with Janie. One of her favorite parts about being a tour guide is the connections she's able to make with her guests so this review means a lot! We're thrilled your interest in Flannery was sparked/further ignited. We hope to see you again!

One of us is a casual Flannery fan and the other had never read her, but we both really enjoyed our tour. We were lucky enough to get a tour from the foundation director, who was such a fan and clearly just loved being able to tell the story of the home and family and show the items within it. It's relatively small and somewhat sparsely decorated, but you'll walk out wanting to read her books if you haven't already.

As a fan, my sister wanted to take this tour, and I went along without ever having read O'Connor's work. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned so much! The Director is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the author's life and work, and I highly recommend visiting. There were other fans on the tour, who also learned new information--truly something for everyone!

A highlight of our recent visit in January. Jo, our tour guide, was delightful and informative. The home is modest and has a small number of Flannery O’Connors’ personal items yet seeing a kitchen from the early 20s ? was an eye opener. Never underestimate the power of a knowledgeable and fervent fan to deliver an interesting tour. Thank you again Jo. O’Connor was an eccentric, unforgettable writer who I now appreciate even more.

Best tour of any museum ever. And I have had a lot of amazing tours.
I am a huge fan of Flannery O'Connor. I went with a relative who hasn't read her work. We both enjoyed it immensely. Because Flannery O'Connor was a modern writer, living memory exists and museum staff have done an AMAZING job capturing stories and anecdotes from people who knew that family well. Flannery O'Connor was a gifted and fascinating child and the stories and artifacts from her childhood and adolescence added so much to my love of her work. The home has been lovingly restored and much of the furniture and books actually belonged to Mary Flannery and her parents. Cannot recommend highly enough! Especially for fans - I cannot overstate how wonderful this experience is.

Even if you have never heard of Flannery O' Connor, you will enjoy this tour because of the architecture and charming interior, however, you will leave wanting to read more about her and her short stories. Janie and Jo were both so welcoming and I look forward to coming back soon. It is right across from the St. John the Baptist Basilica which is also worth touring.

Excellent tour- informative, interesting, and thorough. We loved visiting Savannah and since we are literary nerds this tour was the cherry on top! We actually had spent a few days in Savannah first and then several days in Florida afterwards, but specifically drove BACK to Savannah just for this tour on our way home to Michigan because when we originally booked our trip we didn’t realize the museum was only open certain days that didn’t align with our vacation rental. We are so glad we went back for the tour to learn more about Flannery’s life. Most poignant was seeing the view of the beautiful cathedral spire from the bedroom window, such a perfect visual for realizing the influence of her faith on her art.
