Visited the the museum during their special "Music under the Moonlight" last week. Admission was free and music/opera was great! Museum was small with more ship models than anything else. I would have liked more of the exhibit to focus on the actual sailors/life of a sailor. Although they had some navigational tools, I would have liked more historical info,... More

What a great tour, lots of great ship models but the history Associated to each model makes a good history lesson. Plan to read to get the most out of the tour. Mansion is great to explore as well. Nice gift shop for maritime lovers. Great family educational experience and some of the best ship models I have ever seen.... More

Pleasant surprise at this ship museum on MLK blvd. It is housed in a lovely old mansion which is worth seeing even without the ships. Many ships models made in Savannah or carrying the name. Nice gift shop, pleasant staff willing to explain anything ship related. Lovely large enclosed garden worth a look. Three floors of ship models and items... More

Not too large, you could spend up to about an hour in here unless you're really into this type of thing. It's an interesting stop along the way.

I didn't think this 3rd selection was an attraction That would interest me, but it was part of our Trolley Package, so we went. This is housed in a historical house with a lovely garden. The interior has been altered so much that it was deemed by the historical ladies not to be restored. But there is still a good... More

A dazzling display of workmanship in miniature ship building. I could spend a day there just studying the rigging. If you are into old wooden sailing ships this is a must see.

I was not looking forward to this, but my girlfriend wanted to go. It actually ended up being pretty interesting. There a lot of model ships. It was very cool inside and nice break from the outside.

but the garden is better. Two steps of one of the main streets and you are in a different, quieter world. I will say this about the Museum staff, they were helpful, funny, and full of information.

Take the time to stroll through this collection of magnificent model ships. The display is beautifully done with excellent information on shipping and it's impact on Savannah.
