I love history and I love cemeteries! This one is full of headstones you probably won't see anywhere else - mainly thanks (unfortunately) to the Union soldiers who vandalized them. My daughter and I had fun walking in this pretty place.

This cemetery is nothing like Bonaventure. It's in the middle of town and isn't as big, but there's so much history here with some really old graves. I found it interesting that there are so many headstones leaning against one wall/fence of the cemetery. I'm...More

My wife and I took a stroll through this cemetery on our honeymoon. Not much to see. We were in and out in about thirty minutes or less. I recommend skipping this cemetery and going to Bonaventure instead. Bonaventure has a lot more to offer...More

Beautiful park to walk through. Read the stones, read the history. Tough period. You will hear so many stories about ghosts in the cemetery. Appearing on pictures or videos, after... or direct experiences at sunset. Beautiful spanish trees as only the South offers

Colonial Park Cemetery is nothing like Bonaventure Cemetery. The tombstones are much more spread out, and they are much older, some dating back to the mid 1700s. Some of the tombstones are difficult to read due to their age. Some of the more elaborate inscriptions...More

Interesting historic landmark fullfilled with Savannah history. Check the dueling section. This place influenced a lot of people. Also its one of the main ghost tour stop.

Savannah has an interesting and very dark history and Colonial Park Cemetary plays a huge role in that history. So if you are not interested in Savannah's past, there's not much for you here. It's not a particularly pretty cemetery and there isn't beautiful headstones...More

Colonial Park Cemetery is much closer to the general historic district than Bonaventure Cemetery. There are many victims of the Yellow Fever. Turns out, the cemetery was the sight of some vandalism many, many years ago by, I believe, young soldiers. So if you look...More

Nothing special unless your take a special interest in the history of Savannah and the south. Otherwise you better go to the Bonaventure Cemetery.
