Very pleasantly surprised
Aug 2019
I'm not sure how long this has been opened. Never been here before. I had a friend from over seas visiting and he had suggested grabbing a beer and a bite. We were somewhat surprised that there does not seem to be any sign outside the building with its name.

I was expecting pub like food. Instead, it is a very nice restaurant. The beers, brewed there, were excellent and fairly priced. Service was good. The decor in the bar is quite beautiful, a little less so in the main restaurant.

I will definitely be returning.

Great beers, better service.

Excellent beer, service that is amazing.

Seriously, the wait for a beer was literally the pour time, every time.

Their brews are world class. The selection is eclectic, off style creations, masterfully crafted.

If you are looking for high quality craft beer, stop in here.

The food: bistro-pub fare is what I'll call it. I had the crispy pork belly, girlfriend had the steamed mussels. I'm sure the die hard foodies out there would fund some minor faults with the food, but... Everything on my plate was delicious, my girlfriend's plate left the table with all mussels consumed, no complaints.

To summarize: Beer- 10/10. Service- 11/10. Food- 8/10.

Well worth your time and money.

Great Place

We loved this place. Easy parking, good beers, unique style, plenty of seating, and very attentive staff. We only had drinks, but the staff was so helpful and attentive. The house beers are great with unique names and unique tap handles.

How have I missed this gem of a place?

Had the extreme pleasure of dining at The Brewer's Art last night. I cannot say enough about this place! Our party tried three of the many different beers, all to rave reviews. I had a featured vodka cocktail that was creative and delicious. All of dishes from appetizers through dessert were fresh and delicious. The menu is creative and eclectic with a bit of a German vibe. I will definitely return. P.S. The building is really cool!

Outstanding Food, Outstanding Beer
Nov 2016 • Couples
The atmosphere here is great but there are many reasons to come. The beer is awesome, the food both creative & delicious and the bartenders/servers are friendly & knowledgeable.
We typically come during Happy Hour & enjoy the bar menu. With our goblets of Resurrection and Ozzy we enjoyed the phenomenal Kuri Squash pierogi on oxtail ragu (awesome but overpriced for just 2 pierogi), the lentil root veggie burger with kohlrabi slaw and the Mac & Cheese (definitely the best in Bmore)! No room this time for their yummy rosemary fries. We love this place.

Beautiful building. Excellent food. Awesome bar scene and brewery in the basement! Do yourself a favor and go here for dinner. Then go downstairs and order a Baltimore Zoo. You'll thanks me.

Menu selections very well done if not as extensive as they could be. Schnitzel quite nice; maybe the best I have had since leaving Germany. The beer menu is also without par: either on draft or in bottles you can find anything. Ambiance is great for evening or late fall and winter but may be too cramped and dark for a spring or summer event. Probably at its best if you have a seat in the bar area on a non crowded night.

Great food and drink
May 2015 • Couples
My wife and I visited here when recommended to us by a bartender at the Hard Rock in Baltimore. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced. We ate from the bar menu and found both our sandwiches and our kale salad delicious. The beer selection is fantastic and reasonably priced as well Service was pleasant and quick. We will surely be back.

Great Local Beer
Went to this brewery/restaurant when we were visiting Baltimore. It's located in a historic part of the city in a huge old house. The bar on the main floor is beautiful. We had a few drinks at that bar and then made our way to the downstairs bar. The bartenders were very nice and told us the history of the house and area. We tried all of their beers which were great! We didn't eat anything while we were there but all of the food coming out looked amazing. It was packed on a Sunday so I think that is a testament to how great this place is.

Charming Property, Fine Food, Tasty Beer
Oct 2014 • Friends
This is a lovely bar/restaurant in a charming, historic home with an easy, fun vibe. There's a bar as you enter the house, dining rooms throughout the main floor, and a downstairs bar. The entry bar off the dining room serves a full menu; however, we were seated in the front room of the dining room which was definitely quieter than the bar area. We had an amazing dinner then moved to the downstairs bar. Excellent service and knowledgeable, unpretentious staff with helpful recommendations. Their charcuterie is made in-house and so, so good. We shared charcuterie, the Lamb Osso Buco and the Seared Diver Scallops with a couple of sides including the delish brussel sprouts. Everything was perfectly done. The downstairs bar is ultra cool and looks like a popular, hip spot. The house beers are fantastic, creative and really difficult to choose from. There's also a guest beer list.

Our party of three did not have reservations and had no problem getting a table around 8:30 on a Friday night, but I think we got lucky. I'd recommend a reservation.
