A few of my friends and I sailed the afternoon sail with Virgil in August 2013 and had a grand time learing about the bay and the history of the city. Virgil and his assistant catered to our every need. The sailboat is beautiful and comfortable! Do not miss this adventure!

My wife and I visited Baltimore for our anniversary and she surprised me with a private sunset sailing. We arrived early and were quickly greeted as they were still setting up. We brought a bottle of wine, cheese and meat which they placed into the fridge.
The captain pulled out from the harbor and began the cruise. He was very knowledgeable and out going. We pointed out several points of interest and the history behind everything, which my wife and I found very interesting. About a half hour in, the 1st mate who was the captains wife, cut up our meat and cheese and served it to us along with our wine. They made sure we were in an excellent location for the sunset and were very professional and accommodating. They made you feel as if you were part of their family.
This was the highlight of my trip and I would highly recommend this to any couple or group.

Highly recommended! We did a sunset cruise to celebrate a family birthday. Capt Hobbs took us through the Inner and Outer Harbor and out past Fort McHenry, sharing his knowledge of Baltimore past and present. We’ve lived in Baltimore for 20+ years and still learned so much, while seeing the city from a totally new perspective. The boat had shaded seating and also plenty of deck space up front for lounging and sunbathing. And Emily, the mate, took great care of us - serving drinks and a picnic dinner. Private, relaxing, comfortable and interesting, a great trip!

I might sound exaggerated but trust me, I am not. Captain Hobbs is funny, kind and is genuinely interested on his guests having an amazing time. We sailed with him to celebrate a bachelor party and sailed through the sunset. One of the best ideas we could’ve thought of. We will come back and sail with the Cap’n in the summer, that’s for sure.

We had a great time learning about the local area as well as the boat we were sailing on. We were celebrating our 26 wedding anniversary with our 2 boys and went on the sunset cruise. The crew was very informative and attentive. Captain Virgil is a delight and would definitely go back for another sail.

Our family of four including a high schooler and a young adult went on the 3 hour harbor cruise with Captain Virgil and found it to be a relaxing and informative way to "meet" Baltimore. The captain's historical knowledge of Baltimore exceeded my expectations. He also has a family background in making a living from the waters of the Chesapeake, so that adds another layer of insight that we found very interesting. Not to mention his sailboat racing hobby. A fascinating man, a soothing cruise and a terrific way to learn more about Baltimore.

We had an opportunity to take time away from hectic meetings and ventured to historic Fells Point with Captain Virgil and Harbor Sail. A relaxing afternoon into the area of Harborplace and to the outer harbor where there are many sites to see of the city and beyond to Fort McHenry. The crew was cheerful and made our time on the water a delight along with a champagne toast at sunset, the perfect way to end the day.
Thank you!

Most people don't get to see the inner harbor from the water looking in. Its a completely different perspective, one which Harbor Sail provides. I've spent my whole life in Baltimore but learned an incredible amount about the city from Captain Virgil. Very relaxing with lots wine and sunshine : )
