Glad we took the walk to see it

Beautiful inside. You need to allow for time to see all the levels. So glad I insisted we check it out.

The basilica was well worth our half hour visit, but it helps being a Catholic to understand its historical significance in the state founded by a Catholic gentleman. It also served as the center for Catholicism in the 19th century. I'm not an architecture expert but found the descriptions of the church restoration to be the most interesting part of... More

Beautifully restored Greek Revival Roman Catholic Church, perched on a hill, surrounded by churches of other faiths, makes for an interesting day of touring. Be sure to look up at the stained glass domes which were restored.

Enjoyed going to this church with the family while we were in town. The grounds are nice and the inside is beautiful. Recommend you stop in and say a prayer for our Country when you are in town.

This Basilica is pristine and so well cared-for. It contains incredible artwork and artifacts. The gift shop was very nice as well.

This church has been refurbished more than one time, however it was recently refurbished in an out right overhaul. There were volunteers working and they were willing to answer our questions. They did give us some hints and tips about what to look at. We explored the upstairs and the downstairs crypt…which you can't miss. It's an absolutely beautiful church... More

Also called Baltimore Basilica. Managed to get there in time to catch the 5pm mass service. Magnificent altar and architecture. Make sure to visit the crypts below. Check out the Blessed Sacrament and say a little prayer.

Was in town on business and decided to go take a look at the Basilica. They have guided tours daily, but I did the "self tour" which is just walking around and reading the plaques on the wall. My self guided tour was plenty sufficient. There were two other tours going on, and by the looks of it, they were... More

We went to Baltimore specifically to visit this basilica, the first Catholic Cathedral in the U.S. It was well worth the visit. We had called ahead and had scheduled a tour. The tour included the history of Catholicism in Maryland as well as a history of the basilica. The tour included information on the different paintings, statues, the altars, etc.,... More
