We went to the falls and it was so peaceful and beautiful. We did not see any salmon this trip. But 4 years ago in Sept. we saw hundreds of salmon trying to jump the 60 foot falls. It was amazing and tragic

We visited yesterday before leaving Astoria. Disregard GPS right as you approach the road to the falls. Follow the street signs instead. It was a short 5 min walk down to the falls. It is quite steep in places with high steps. You will pass...More

We were so thrilled to find these falls just 20 minutes or so from Astoria. There is a small parking lot, very few people, and spectacular waterfall at the end of a short hike down a hillside. There are lots of rocks and tree roots...More

Went here for the first time and was impressed with the tranquility of the spot. It is a short walk from the parking area and we were pretty much alone. It was peaceful and you could reflect on our history as a country. In today’s...More

A bit south of Astoria (you need a car to get there), these falls are very pretty. A short easy hike from the parking lot. There are a couple of small pebbled areas for picnicking and relaxing. I read that people swim here in the...More

This is quite a windy trip out through the country. A stop at the small market is fun, kind of like going back 50 years to the way things used to be. old fashioned hospitality, friendly and helpful folks. Not the biggest falls you will...More

I would love to say this was a pleasant trip, but I can't. We spent an hour looking for the trail and never did find it. Frustrated we gave up and went into Astoria for a different hike. The roads leading to the destination are...More

We decided to drive the 10 miles outside of town to check out the falls and it was great! The short hike down was not bad and you can get close to the falls and feel the mist. In the summertime I imagine the flow...More

To get to the base of the falls it might be difficult. You can see the falls from the roadway while still in your car. You will not get a full view but some view is better than no view at all in my opinion.

When we were there, I'd consider it pretty heavy. It hadn't been raining in the days previously. It's a beautiful place...I'd say bring sturdy waterproof footwear to wear IN the water. Enjoy!!
