We almost drove right by this place. Didn't know much about it but decided to check it out and glad we did. At one time this was a huge army base. About all that's left are huge bunkers that once housed large artillery to protect...More

Great trails to bike and hike. A beautiful beach with miles of soft sand, sea grass dunes and a 100 year old ship sitting right between the ocean and sand dunes. Amazing site to see and walk around.

We came here only to see the shipwreck and it is free to park and walk down to the shipwreck the Peter iredale. Best to go at lower tide to get right up to it. If You are in the area stop here.

We just loved being awestruck by the incredible sights and sounds of the pounding surf. Certainly we take back incredible memories of this place. While we were in the area, we did visit the military museum at Fort Stevens. This was a great experience as...More

We camped here for more than a week and it was fantastic. Not a lot of shells on the beach but you can find a sand dollar here and there. The ship wreck is interesting and the entire sketin can be seen at low tide.

We took the tour through the park and stopped at parking area where we were able to walk on beach. Drove around to another area where you could observe the Columbia River where it meets the Pacific Ocean. Quite a large park with no fees...More

Such wonderful memories of this campground. So much so, my parents asked to have their ashes scattered here. Fort Stevens is big and there is a lot to do here. Great campsites, clean bathrooms, and showers. Each site has water and power. Highly recommend bringing...More

I recommend by starting with a map. There are historical sights (old forts), the ocean, of course, the bay, wildlife, bike trails and camping. We spent only a few hours here and thoroughly enjoyed it on a sort of warm sunny day.

I hadn't been here in 25 years so I wanted to check it out again. Very nice area with good access to several areas. Drove through the campground, and was nice but they have sites stacked in real tight. Lots of bike trails.

I had the same experience as Cherita. Near the entrance, I had no problem. The further into the park, the less wifi I had.

I know this is probably too late, but yes all of the cabins have fire pits.
